Hattip to commenter Nate.  Whenever the government gives away something for “free” everyone pays:  in taxes, in impaired economies, in lost liberty, etc.  Those who pay most heavily for such government largesse are the recipients who the government thus reduces to the status of a child with her hand out to a parent.

  1. Since birth control–“free” or otherwise–really doesn’t work that well, the State must have “free” abortions. I remember well the days I was pro-abortion because, quite honestly, abortions are cheaper than paying for some one else’s kid.
