Though opponents chanted “No” outside their doors earlier in the day, the Massachusetts House of Representatives voted overwhelmingly to pass a transgender public accommodations bill on Wednesday
The 116-36 vote was announced just before 6 p.m. to resounding applause inside the House chamber, following a long day of debate and attempts to amend the bill.
Like a similar bill passed by the state Senate earlier this month, the legislation would offer transgender people protections from discrimination at public accommodations like restaurants and malls, and allows people to use the restroom or locker room that matches their gender identity.
Go here to read the rest. We live in an age of pernicious make believe where people can pretend to choose the sex they wish to be and everyone else must cater to a belief that is just as sane as someone believing they are a dog, an oak tree or an honest liberal. If we had a Conference of Catholic Bishops that wasn’t a complete joke in this country, they might be pondering why the states with the highest percentages of Catholics also tend to be the states where leftist dogma is enacted into law to persecute faithful Catholics. Of course that would take precious time away from pressing matters like sucking up to the Federal government for hundreds of millions in order to aid in flaunting the immigration laws of this nation. Priorities, priorities.
