PopeWatch: Trump

PopeWatch2-199x300-199x300-199x300

The Vatican begins the process of adjusting to the reality of President Trump:

After Donald Trump pulled off what was for many a surprising victory in the United States election, Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin offered his prayers that the new president-elect would promote peace in a world torn by conflict.

“First of all, we take note with respect the will of the American people in this exercise of democracy which they tell me was characterized by a large turnout. Then we congratulate the new president, so that his government can be truly fruitful,” Cardinal Parolin told Vatican Radio Nov. 19.

He also assured of his prayers, “so that the Lord illuminate him and sustain him in the service of his homeland, naturally, but also of the peace and wellbeing of the world.”

“I believe that today it is needed for everyone to work to change the global situation, which is a situation of serious laceration and grave conflict.”

Cardinal Parolin spoke at the inauguration of academic year of the Pontifical Lateran University in Rome.

Go here to read the rest.  Let us part the mists of time and imagine the first visit of President Trump to the Vatican.

Francis:  Welcome to the Vatican Mr. President.

Trump:  Holy Father, it is with great pleasure that I…  (Trump stops and crumples up paper.)

Francis:  Is there something wrong Mr. Trump?

Trump:   Yeah, my advisors wanted me to mouth some meaningless crap to you.  Say, is there anywhere in this place where you and I could catch something to drink and maybe some pizza and sit down and talk man to man?  Maybe a nun could show Melania some of your artwork.  Melania is big on that type of stuff.

Francis:  Perhaps we could go to my private quarters and put our feet up.  My back is killing me today.

Walking off arm in arm:

Trump:  Holy Father, I think this is the start of a beautiful friendship!

“I believe that today it is needed for everyone to work to change the global situation, which is a situation of serious laceration and grave conflict.”
.
Solution: preach the Gospel of Conversion and Repentance, Righteousness and Holiness, Pope Francis, if you really truly want to stop this global laceration and conflict. Do the Great Commission that Jesus gave to His Apostles in Matthew 28:
.
16 Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. 17 And when they saw him they worshiped him; but some doubted. 18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, to the close of the age.”
.
That is your PRIMARY job, your PRIMARY purpose, Pope Francis, NOT this left wing eco-wacko, commie-pink, peace at any price nonsense. Stop hatred and violence by evangelizing to the Gospel! Argh! Stupid freaking Argentinian Marxist Peronist Jesuit!

I’m rather pleased to see someone at the Vatican who’s publicly talking about “the global situation” and means the bunches of people dying, not a theoretical possible future death from climate disruption.

The Roman Pontiff is an anomaly in the world today. He is a leftist.

Poland threw out their leftist government. Hungary is ruled by a rightist party. Britain is leaving the ghastly EU. Here in the US, Obumbler’s days and policies are nearing an end. Trump called climate change “bull$hit”. He is a free market guy. He even came out against abortion. He is against unchecked immigration. A majortiy of American Catholics voted for him, and if you take out Latino Catholics, who I am certain were overwhelmingly for Hildebeast, a wide majority voted for Trump. All of these things are anathema to the current Roman Pontiff, who wants to appoint Wuerl and Lynch types to various American sees. Wuerl and the Pope have cut off their noses to spite their faces. Cardinal Burke could have told the Argentine Pope that Americans don’t like his rhetoric and that a BIG chunk of the funds that operate the Vatican come from the US. However, he would have been too full of himself to listen. Trump should appoint Cardinal Burke to the US Ambassador to the Holy See. That will fix Pope Francis’ little red wagon.
