At the Wednesday night rehearsal of our parish instrumental group (trumpet, two clarinets, guitar, two flutes, tympani–and me on a bowed psaltery) the director played a recording of a carol we will play in the prelude before the 7:30 pm Christmas Vigil Mass, the Wexford Carol. Â It’s beautiful and out of the way–I found a YouTube of it with Alison Kraus and Yo-Yo Ma and lyrics that I hope you all will enjoy:
