Tucker Carlson points out that the people acting like authoritarians have not been Trump and his supporters but the frenzied Resistance and their Deep State allies:
What Trump has revealed is that many people among those who consider themselves the ruling class in this country have nothing but contempt for elections if they threaten to shake up business as usual, and will do almost anything to negate the results of such an election.
The Tucker Carlson video brings up an excellent point about the elites. Based on their behavior, as described in the video, it seems to me that the American elites should be called the American oligarchy. They appear to be headed the same direction as that of the Russian and Chinese oligarchies.
Disagree. The mentality of American liberals – especially the law and academy wing – is derived from the social relations of a high school (or perhaps a college). The judiciary and the professoriate are the administration and the faculty and we’re all under they’re tutelage. Everyone’s a client of some authority and there are no freely contracting parties. Elected bodies are diversions like student councils, and have just as much discretion as the school administration is willing to concede to them. And, of course, the faculty can be non-compliant with impunity.
These Bourbons are begging to be ejected from their positions and run off like Count d’Artois.

After they made self defense a punishable offense, and “being annoying to a teacher” the same as being wrong.
