America the Great and Those Who Hate Her

Governor Andrew Cuomo (D.NY) has the sniggering contempt for this country that is the hallmark of the Left and is becoming the hallmark of the Democrat Party:

Compared to what I wonder.

He doesn’t say. As is usual with the modern Left, he’s long on empty rhetoric, short on actual details. He sets up an impossible standard for greatness: when each and every American is ‘fully engaged’, then we’ll be great. Whatever he means by full engaged it beyond me.

Whatever it means, it can never happen. Where two or more are gathered, you will never have ‘everyone fully anything.’ That’s not a Christian theological standard. That’s a common sense standard.

Nonetheless, by setting up such standards Gov. Cuomo has essentially told us that the Leftist revolution will continue forever and ever and ever. Remember a few months ago when I wrote about a S. American historian who told me to always be wary of the revolution that won’t admit victory? In this case, Gov. Cuomo is setting it up so there is no need to discuss victory. It will never happen, so those who benefit from the revolution will have eternal job security.

The other disturbing thing about this, beyond the stupid dumb of his statement and the clear contempt that the Left has for our country and heritage, is the cheers that arose when he made the statement. The Left has bred generations of Americans who are sure the most evil country in history is this America that needs burned to the ground.

Hence the white racist nationalist march that didn’t happen last weekend. What did happen was a bunch of Leftist anarchists who had nothing better to do than assail police, threaten journalists and chant their desire for an end to the United States.

Which is why you haven’t heard much about the march. We’re told white racism is like a tsunami, with tens of millions jumping on board and millions of minorities in terror of pain and death on a daily basis. And yet more people belong to the pottery class at the local art museum than showed up for the nationwide white supremacy march. On the other hand, you had thousands with their hatred of police, media establishments and America taking to the streets.

This is all tied together. Where it will go, I don’t know. Many Christians play the ‘seek God’s kingdom first’ card to excuse not caring about what happens to America. The same, of course, could be said about Global Warming and caring about what happens to the planet. The point is, I fear they are playing that card because they’re tired of the fight or they don’t want to jeopardize continuing to suffer for Jesus on six figures a year.

Given that they would be the best hope for standing up to this movement dedicated to the eradication of the United States, and all of the blessings it brought the world, it doesn’t look promising.

BTW, and I’ve heard he came out and modified his statements. Fine enough. But let’s face it, which set of statements do you believe?

Our country is the greatest nation in the history of this planet if one looks at its dedication to human freedom under the rule of law.  Lincoln said it best on August 17, 1858:

Go here to comment.  The Left, raised on and perpetuating black armband history that sees only the faults of this beautiful country, as the Chinese call her, have only contempt for this fair land of freedom.  They have produced idiots like Cuomo who do not much like, let alone love, a nation they seek to rule.  Cuomo, if twere only possible, might have received much enlightenment on that score from his own grandparents, if he had asked Andrea and Immacolata why they chose to cross an ocean in 1926 and 1927 to emigrate from Italy to the United States.  Politicians who don’t love this country should never be entrusted with political power in it, and when the People are foolish enough to do so, they should not be surprised at the harm that such misguided fools do in office.

The wife (family ties) insists on staying. Otherwise, I’d have left high-tax, anti-Second Amendment tyranny, ultra-corrupt NYSSR years ago.

The only truly great place of perfect happiness is Heaven. One needs to die to get in. Likely, Thuginator-in-Chief Cuomo, in particular, and leftists, in general, will never see it.

Re: his “thoughts and prayers” insult to believers, God does not hear the prayers of sinners.

Recall for the moment that his father had had a satisfactory career practicing law in Brooklyn, had held two of the highest offices in New York State government, and could have been a serious competitor for the Presidency had he wanted the job. For all that, he was still in a slow burn that white shoe firms had no interest in him in 1958. Reporters in New York covering Albany had by 1990 received enough coldly angry phone calls at 6:30 am that they’d concluded there was something quite wrong with the man. Strip away Mario Cuomo’s experience in law, his intellectuality, and his intermittent class and you get his degenerate son. It’s not pretty. It says something disagreeable about New York’s political class that Andrew Cuomo has been nominated 4x for high office in New York. It says something just as disagreeable about New York’s electorate that north of 60% of them were willing to chow down on that s**t sandwich.

Miss Nixon’s previous experience supervising anything other than her household staff is nil. Looks like she’ll get 1/3 of the vote, though. Ain’t New York Democrats wunnerful?

What’s interesting about liberals is that they’re generally completely uninterested in actual social defects. They don’t care about inner city crime, they don’t care about school disorder, they don’t care about lousy academic standards in schools (so long as their own children are out of the way), they don’t care about bad urban planning; bar a few eccentrics like Michael Kinsley, they don’t care about our defective tax code and the perverse incentives incorporated within it (they just complain that ‘the rich’ aren’t paying ‘their fair share’); they don’t care about the quality of the built environment in inner cities, they don’t care about the welfare (economic or social) of non-exotic wage-earners, they don’t care about the structural defects of the financial sector (as long as casino bankers are financing their campaigns), they don’t care about the efficiency and reliability of the court system, and they don’t care about abuse of power by public agencies so long as the abused parties are not in their clientele. Instead, you get ever dizzier yammer about pseudo-problems.

Oregon’s bisexual pervert Kate Brown is just like adulterous apostate faux Katholyck Andy Cuomo, who is following his father Mario to perdition. Saw Bernie Sanders posters, pink Planned Parenthood murderesses, anti-Semitic drop out geriatric hippies protesting against Israel, millennial snowflakes with their pink hair and nose rings, college girls in short shorts with their butt cheeks hanging out, etc ad nauseam. These are the Kate Brown and Andy Cuomo people. Just like the ones at Ninevah to whom God sent Jonah, except the Ninevites repented. America was great before they came along.

I think Papa Cuomo gave some serious thought to religious matters. None of his children give much indication that they do. Two have made a career in the Democratic Party (one in the electoral politics / office-holder pod, the other in the media pod), A third had a run through the divorce courts, then married a non-Christian. A fourth’s marriage also required an episcopal dispensation (her husband is the world’s only big-time fashion designer with a wife and children). His remaining child is still married. She’s evidently given up law practice. She was once an associate at a Manhattan firm of some reputation (now dissolved); she specialized in divorce cases.

Most of you probably remember Andy Cuomo saying a few years ago that social conservatives (pro-life, pro-2nd amendment, pro-traditional marriage, etc.) “have no place” in NY politics “because that’s not who New Yorkers are”. He was speaking in the context of NY State party politics to indicate that social conservatives lacked influence in either party because they were regarded as too “extreme”. While he probably didn’t literally mean “social conservatives aren’t welcome to live or do business in New York,” it seems clear he wouldn’t be all that upset if so-cons took him at his word and moved out (or stayed away). He very likely wouldn’t mind if every resident who voted for Trump, or who doesn’t think Trump is the Most Evil President Ever, packed up and left.

My big fear is that the probable next governor of Illinois, J.B. Pritzker, being also a hardcore Trump “resister”, will take the same tack. No, he hasn’t literally said that conservatives have no place in IL, but his policies will probably make abundantly clear that they don’t.

New York City pols are big on various priming schemes to promote ‘housing’. Mr. Sailer reminds us that ‘affordable housing’ is actually ‘awardable housing’, with the concessionary rents granted those with a connection to pols. Which is why New York City pols are all for it.

Wpould you by chance have kept a copy of “Highlights of HUD accomplishments 1997 – 1999.” The (taxpayer funded) document chronicles the “accomplishments under the leadership of Secretary Andrew Cuomo, who took over in January 1997”?

It is evidence of the thuginator’s self-promotion and provided a guide to the housing bubble, the subprime mortgage crisis, the financial catastrophe of 2008, and the Great Recession. Cuomo set affordable housing goals for FNMA/FHLMC – the two, huge GSE’s involved in providing massively-excessive liquidity to US home finance – to buy $2.4 trillion in mortgages over ten years.

Then, as NY AG he copied whore-hound Eliot Spitzer’s SOP for piracy (millions in unjust fines paid to avoid bad publicity from lengthy court trials) against NY corporations – the democrats’ road to the NY state house.

I was just about to say, “huh?” until I realized you’re referencing New York geography. In IL the rural area is Downstate because Chicago is in the northeast corner.

You know, I’m starting to think there is a close parallel between the Left and Right’s approaches to American history and politics, and their approaches to scandals in the Catholic Church. The Right believes those responsible for scandal should be rooted out and punished, but that the basic/founding principles remain valid, and the solution is to return to and recommit to them. Whereas the Left seems to believe that such behavior proves the founding principles were never valid and that the entire structure must be destroyed and replaced. In some ways, leaving the Church over clerical abuse and other scandals could be compared to renouncing one’s US citizenship and moving to another country because of Trump, Obama, Hillary, racism, slavery, the abuses of the Deep State, etc. At what point do the abuses become egregious and endemic enough to decide, I can no longer pledge allegiance to this nation, or this Church? And is there any real alternative?

Great question and parallel.
I guess for some the last straw will be based upon ones personal core beliefs. Example; It’s a woman’s body. Her choice. The infection must be eradicated in order for her better future. No one has a right to choose for her.. especially the state.

In a similar light…

The Church is never going to survive because of it’s inability to conform to the culture.. the enlightened masses who have shown time and time again that organized religion is nothing but a worn out book of high fiction filled with hatred and bigotry. Proven again by the scandalous actions of those who are leadership of said religion.

The other view?

Faith in God and Trust in Him.

The Church will never dissolve.
The ninety eight percent of Catholic priests who cherish their bride will lead the flock regardless of Judas’ tribe. Actually…they will grow vocations during this scandal because the Victor will see to it!

He will restore, replenish and revive the victims who range from weak bystanders in their newly found faith to the abused victims who have had their faith torn apart. T I M E.

In time.

Let’s band together to form the arms of Arron who helped Moses hold high above his head the rod and recall that victory is His. He has already won! The looser is just pretending to be powerful. He uses weak Cardinals, Bishops, Priests and laymen to win himself a soul or two. Not On Our Shift Eliane. We will keep the faith.
