sebelius-and-tiller

Hattip to Jay Anderson at Pro Ecclesia who has done yeoman work in keeping his eye on Sebelius.  It is fitting that President Obama, the most pro-abort president in our nation’s history, has nominated for Secretary of  Health and Human Services, the most pro-abort governor in our nation, Kansas governor Kathleen Sebelius.

Sebelius throughout her political career has been a strident, one might say fanatical, supporter of abortion.  In 1992 as a member of the Kansas House of Representatives, her support for pro-abortion legislation brought this rebuke from Archbishop Ignatius Strecker.  After she was elected as governor, she constantly clashed with Archbishop James Keleher over abortion.  On May 9, of last year, Archbishop Naumann announced that Sebelius should refrain from taking communion until she repented of her position in favor of abortion and went to confession.

Sebelius is no ordinary supporter of abortion.  She is a close ally of Tiller the Killer, otherwise known as Dr. George Tiller, the foremost practitioner of late term abortions in this country.  The ties between Sebelius and Tiller are outlined here.

Of course none of this will take anyone by surprise, other than perhaps Doug Kmiec, and any other pro-lifers who deluded themselves into thinking last year that Obama was anything other than a dedicated enemy of the right to life of the unborn.  This President has nothing but scorn for pro-lifers in general and Catholic pro-lifers in particular, as this appointment amply demonstrates.

  1. Nothing surprising here. Just like the blizzard which fell on our Right Coast region overnight. Seems to be how our Messiah is actually taking page from the GWB playbook. Just as GWB rescued Christie Todd Whitman from complete screwup as NJ governor to become EPA head honcho, so our Apostle Hope and Change is also airlifting Sibelius from ineptitude in Kansas to mess up HHS. Might be one of those showdowns between Catholics who think the occasional abortion or two is OK and those of us to the contrary. Not likely that MSM will bring up her good buddy Tiller The Killer. Could be her version of Rev. Jeremiah Wright- the ally to keep in the upper attic, away from respectable company. In any event nice to see a Loyal Opposition popping up with these delightful Tea Parties. Shall we invite La Sibelius to tea? Or pour contents over her head?

  2. And now it looks like the Conscience exemption for medical personnel is going. Oh well. So much for the pro-life Obama. Is FOCA far behind.
