Further evidence as to how detached most Democrat elites are from the United States military was given at the Democrat Convention last week:
On the last night of the Democratic National Convention, a retired Navy four-star took the stage to pay tribute to veterans. Behind him, on a giant screen, the image of four hulking warships reinforced his patriotic message.
But there was a big mistake in the stirring backdrop: those are Russian warships.
While retired Adm. John Nathman, a former commander of Fleet Forces Command, honored vets as America’s best, the ships from the Russian Federation Navy were arrayed like sentinels on the big screen above.
These were the very Soviet-era combatants that Nathman and Cold Warriors like him had once squared off against.
“The ships are definitely Russian,” said noted naval author Norman Polmar after reviewing hi-resolution photos from the event. “There’s no question of that in my mind.”
Go here to read the rest at Navy Times. To avoid such an idiotic mixup in the future, I would suggest that the Democrat planners for their convention in 2016 need to familiarize themselves with Jane’s Fighting Ships. Either that or go the whole Russki and invite the Russian Black Sea Fleet Choir to provide entertainment!
I hope this is not what we will be seeing after the election. Remember when Obama told Medvedev that he would have more “flexibility” after the election?
Yes John. The mike was open. If indeed these are Russian Ships it makes one ponder the intent.
Carelessness. All out disrespect. “DREAMS from my Father” code for nightmares for Americans?
Maybe the 2016 Democrat convention is in St. Petersburg and they’re just shilling for some free cruises.
Don’t make me laugh so hard W.K. this early in the morning! 🙂
We might have to wait and see if there even is a 2016 convention for either party, by then there might be only one ‘legal’ party and everyone else just a thorn in the side of those in charge, like you see in Russia, China and other countries.
The planes shown may also have been from the Turkish Air Force.
