One of my favorite conservative sites is No Pasaran, a conservative site from France in English that often has very illuminating posts. Below we have a section of a post by Erik discussing the costs of the sexual revolution:
The “harmless” leftists also brought us such cultural wonders as the sexual revolution, which is supposed to be a giant leap forward against a society of old-fashioned taboos.
Is that all that the revolution has brought us? Is it only all that is good?
We now live in a society where kids asked for directions run screaming from a stranger’s car because the driver was a man; where later London mayor Boris Johnson was once asked to change his seat in an airplane (in an airliner!) because the flight attendants did not want to seat a lone-traveling boy next to a singly-traveling man; where kids in French parks are forbidden to speak with any adult (certainly with any adult male) although they are their in classes of dozens running around on the grass and supervised by a number of teachers; where over 600 mall visitors walked by two lost- and “utterly forlorn”-looking girls in a Daily Mail experiment, ignoring them because they were afraid of being labeled a pedophile; and where males are no longer trusted to be in the teaching profession. Says Good Morning America’s Susan Donaldson James:
“It’s very hard to change the suspicion of men who are going to elementary education when there are so few of them,” [said Massachusetts psychologist Michael Thompson, co-author of the groundbreaking 2000 book “Raising Cain,” which argues that society shortchanges boys]. “Schools ask me to talk to men on their faculty and when I sit with them behind closed doors, they say the moms look at them like potential pedophiles.“If they are too nurturing or a mother comes in and sees a teacher reading in a chair and the child is leaning against the teacher or cuddling him, they freak out,” he said. “Men tell me they only have to look in the mom’s face to know what they are thinking.”
The professor adds that
as I’ve noted before, is that if you watch old movies, or even cartoons, it’s regularly assumed that adult males have nurturing instincts. Only in our supposedly progressive era are men reduced to cardboard cutouts dominated by lust and Mammon.
This is the mighty good that the sexual revolution and its good riddance to taboos have brought us: where no one trusts anyone, where every neighbor is a predator, a pedophile, or suspected of being one, if “only” potentially. Or, almost just as bad, a wife-beater or a father with no love for his children, who deserves to have his wife divorce him, his family broken up, and himself left as destitute as possible. (You will notice that the “culprits” most often are men, who are part of the gender most associated with — dare we speak the truth without hysterics breaking out? — a spirit of independence, not giving in, and resistance to the authorities.)
Go here to read the rest. One of the clear hallmarks of the sexual revolution is an increased dependence on government due to the havoc that the sexual revolution has wreaked on families. The mainstreaming of sexual perversion has sent a clear message that there is no portion of our lives that cannot be destroyed by predatory sexual conduct. Neither sexual predation nor sexual perversion of course originated with the sexual revolution, but the implicit social approval of both certainly did. One of the truest sayings of the Bible is Galatians 6:7: Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. If we needed further proof of that statement, the aftermath of the sexual revolution has certainly supplied it.
This is another example of that saying you quoted the other day, Donald: those whom the gods would destroy they first make mad. The prophet Hosea’s whirlwind is coming upon us.
I recently read Paul Among the People (http://www.amazon.com/Paul-Among-People-Reinterpreted-Reimagined/dp/0385522576/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1399472827&sr=1-1&keywords=paul+among+the+people) which sets Paul’s writing in the historic setting of the morality of the pagan ancient world. She writes that predatory sexuality in all its forms was so common that parents of freeborn children had to keep a constant eye out for men who might try to deflower their young boys and girls. Pedophiles would pose as tutors and try to get hired by families of attractive young men, gaining the trust of the family. Sound familiar? This is not a new problem. Christian sexual morality, while difficult in some ways, provided peace from this constant anxiety.
Kyle Harper covers much the same ground.
It should be added that the problem wasn’t pedophilia, per se, so much as seducing the free born. That’s what slaves were for.
Mrs. Zummo: That is very interesting, especially since the progressives like to think themselves “modern”.
According to the Sibylline Oracles, written in the late 2nd – early 1st century BC, “Jews are mindful of holy wedlock, and they do not engage in impious intercourse with male children, as do Phoenicians, Egyptians, and Romans, specious Greece and many nations of others, Persians and Galatians and all Asia.”
The Lex Scatinia was enacted for a reason.
And that reason was so that the sons of Senators wouldn’t be used in the same manner that the Senator used his slaves.
Just to be clear.
If I have a point, I suppose it’s that our civilization, neo-pagan though it’s become, still has enough Christian influence written into it’s DNA, so to speak, that it’s not paleo-pagan –yet.
Sexual revolution, indeed. It did nothing but to expand bad sexual behavior, spread sexually transmitted disease, create a so-called “demand” for abortion and has led to sodomy being a “right”.
There is a children’s cartoon that shows up on Nick on Saturday mornings, The Penguins of Madagascar. I won’t go into all the details, but the leader is a penguin who considers himself to be a gung-ho commando. One of the penguins was inventing a time machine. The leader, Skipper, wanted to go into the past and “slap some hippies”.
I let my kids watch that cartoon whenever they want.

Pasaran! I like strong offense stance summed in their chosen moniker in the defense of civilization. Makes me think of Monty Python “None Shall Pass!” 🙂
I heard a priest say a few years that it was difficult to go out clerics or a roman collar because the left had so successfully imposed the lie that priests are dangerous. Part of mainstreaming the so-called revolution is making people believe in the ubiquitousness and power of sexual behaviors. That’s why the Kinsey picture is perfect for this post.
