 50.       Homosexuals have gifts and qualities to offer to the Christian community: are we capable of welcoming these people, guaranteeing to them a fraternal space in our communities? Often they wish to encounter a Church that offers them a welcoming home. Are our communities capable of providing that, accepting and valuing their sexual orientation, without compromising Catholic doctrine on the family and matrimony?

I take issue with Pope Francis implying that we do not offer them welcome and that homosexuals are willing to share their gifts and have not already done so.
.
Pope Francis is creating an issue where there is none. Having inhaled the zeitgeist, Pope Francis exhales the spirit of the world who is not the Holy Spirit.
another thought: If some people had not violated the Real Presence of Jesus Christ in the Church, as they did at St. Patricks wearing their rainbow sashes, security guards would not have been necessary.
.
The Knights of Columbus need to take up the security of the Blessed Sacrament. It is incumbent upon every parishioner attending Mass to provide a loving and gentle shelter for OUr Lord, Jesus Christ.
.
All Pope Francis has done is to assume responsibility, the blame and the guilt for any damage, outrage, blasphemy and sacrilege these unbelievers cause in the Church. Pope Francis has already assumed spiritual care of their souls when he accepted the Chair of St. Peter. If souls do not make it to heaven, Pope Francis will carry responsibiilty for what he has done.

I get the impression that this pope is painting the Church as some sort of evil menace, while painting homosexuals as the saintly oppressed. The tactics are similar to how Communists wedge into power and acceptance their policies. I hope I’m mistaken. I just don’t get the feeling that this pope is defending Christ’s Church and the flock therein.
