PopeWatch: The Anti-Catholic Party

PopeWatch2-199x300-199x300

Pope Francis has never set foot in this nation before, so PopeWatch would not be surprised if he is ignorant in regard to the subject of American politics.  For his benefit:

When the Tokugawa shogunate was stamping out Christianity in Japan, it made use of Fumi-e (stepping on pictures).  Regime officials would place pictures of Jesus or Mary before suspected Christians and order them to step on them.  Refusal to do so, if persisted in, would end in execution.  In our own country we are seeing the growth of a movement just as antithetical in theory to Catholicism and traditional Christianity as the Tokugawa shogunate, and it finds its home in the Democrat party.

What we have seen over the past few decades is the evolution of the Democrat party into an overtly anti-Catholic party.  The Obama administration is the culmination of this trend.  This of course is deeply ironic, because the Democrat party is a major party in this country with the help of the votes of tens of millions of purported Catholics.

In the past four decades the Democrats, with honorable exceptions, have championed abortion which is anathema to the teachings of the Church.  The embrace of homosexuality followed, which has caused governments around the nation to drive the Church out of adoptions because the Church refuses to arrange adoptions by homosexual couples.  In California, a state wholly controlled by the Democrat party, homosexual indoctrination, masquerading as education, is now mandated in public schools.  For cynical political purposes the Obama administration in 2012 proposed that Catholic institutions, and individual Catholic employers, be required to provide “free” contraceptive coverage, and is quite willing to run roughshod over the First Amendment to accomplish this goal.  These changes in society are the modern Fumi-e by which believing Catholics and traditional Christians are made to renounce, in effect, the teachings of Christ step by step.

It doesn’t require brilliance to see where this is all going.  The powers that be in the modern Democrat party are busily constructing a society that is deeply hostile to traditional Christianity in general and to Catholicism in particular.  Ultimately PopeWatch has absolutely no doubt that we are on a path, if not altered, which will  end in effective second class citizenship for believers in what the Church has taught for 2000 years and, finally, active persecution.  Pope Benedict sounded the alarm bells about the threat to religious liberty in America in 2012, and his words may be read here.

No doubt Pope Francis will have more important issues to occupy his time while he is here, including climate change, lending support to a move to abolish the borders of the United States and supporting calls for ever more control by Caesar of business.  However, if he wishes, he might spare a few words for the menace rising in this country against Catholicism.

When social doctrine, puffed with economic socialist and eco-nonsense, becomes a priority over following the commandments and seeking God’s truth in all things, we end up with the type of hollow Catholicism we have endemic in America–both in the clergy and the laity.
There appears little need for the Godless power-seekers to waste much time persecuting such perfect role models for their super-state.
It’s as if one fell through the “looking glass” and is watching God arriving to judge man by how much CO2 he put into the atmosphere.

Don’t forget the platform of the Democrat party that removed any mention of God and could have been written by old Screwtape himself. There are no Catholics left in the Democrat party, whether they acknowledge that reality or not.

The Roman Pontiff is far too busy to discuss issues like birth control, abortion and homosexuality. Better to talk about capitalism and global warming.

I admit to the need to pull a lumber yard out of my eyes. Having said that, I find it best to tune out the current Roman Pontiff.

We can’t ignore the blatant love of evil openly supported by the Democrat party, but we would be remiss to not notice the GOPe remains effectively as co-conspirators to their evil.
It is one thing to remain silent in the face of evil, and another to constantly attack “social conservatives (euphemism for faithful Christians) and by default, demand to set aside “social issues’ for now, in order to win.
Silence, in the face of evil, is complicity.
Voting for the lesser of two evils but guarantees we always get evil.

Democrats supported the enslavement of human beings in the early and mid-19th century. Democrats support the dismemberment and organ sale of human beings in the 21st century. Democrats support the sanctification of the filth of sterile sexual perversion in the 21st century. Democrats are evil. They have always been evil. They always will be evil. There is no dialogue to be had with them. They must be muzzled, emasculated and defeated. Oh, I forgot – they are emasculating themselves with godless, idolatrous feminism.

The Republican victories at the state level isn’t going to do any good. The SCOTUS will declare any good law that’s passed unconstitutional. The Democrats will promise the minorities more free stuff for their votes. The GOP has never taken any effective action that would stop the free stuff from going to the minorities. They know very well they would lose votes if they did. The Republican leadership at the national level has shown itself to be ineffectual in standing up to the Dems. Their candidates for the POTUS have been me-too lackluster fops. You can call this gloom and doom all you want, but until the Grand Old Party stops being the Goofy Old Party, and stops alienating it’s base on issues like immigration, it will continue it’s march to irrelevancy.

What we have seen over the past few decades is the evolution of the Democrat party into an overtly anti-Catholic party.

It’s actually the lawyer left operating through the Democratic Party, with the social work, mental health, and educational apparat as auxilliaries. The machine bosses and labor meatheads who used to run the Democratic Party would have been aghast at this.

Well, up the ante and impound the funds the Supreme Court needs to operate. If misfeasance is their game, use your lawful discretion to put them out of business. If Judge Ginsburg complains that the Constitution she does not respect says she gets her salary, send a dump truck with $247,000 worth of potatoes in it and unload it on her front lawn, her back lawn, and her car in the driveway.

Your establishment GOP’ers wouldn’t have the guts to dump potato’s on her property. They would bring the spuds to her and

The establishment GOP’ers wouldn’t have the guts to pull a stunt like that. Even if they did try something like that, the sexual, religious, and racial minorities would start screaming, “Anti-Semitism, gay bashers, Klu Kluxer ! et al, and they would cave in overnight for fear of being smeared as bigots. Why do you think the term cuckservative has become so popular in just the past couple of months? Because it’s true.

The Republicans are in the position of blocking bad legislation in Washington, but they will be unable to pass good legislation until they control the White House.

And once they get control of the White House, they’ll be whining about the lack of a filibuster proof majority in the Senate, liberal judges and an entrenched recalcitrant bureaucracy.

I think a strong case can be made that our Bishops had much to do with where we are now by: being mostly Democrats; taking government money; not wishing to upset their flocks who are 50% Democrat; employing wish-washy opposition to abortion (seamless garment), etc. They had the power to change the moral direction of this country but were afraid to use it. Rather the Bishops utilized their prestige to push the Democrat social justice agenda. And now Pope Francis is leading the pack in this regard. How shameful it all is.

Michael Dowd, well said. Our Bishops have almost uniformly failed to act as strong Christian leaders. I’m waiting for at least a faithful remnant to withdraw from the USCCB and very clearly explain why. Won’t happen. Talk about cowardice.
