They Will Defend to the Death Your Right to Agree With Them

Scott Adams, creator of Dilbert, gives a demonstration why a fair number of Trump supporters may be keeping their support a secret:

This weekend I got “shadowbanned” on Twitter. It lasted until my followers noticed and protested. Shadowbanning prevents my followers from seeing my tweets and replies, but in a way that is not obvious until you do some digging.

Why did I get shadowbanned?

Beats me.

But it was probably because I asked people to tweet me examples of Clinton supporters being violent against peaceful Trump supporters in public. I got a lot of them. It was chilling.

Late last week my Twitter feed was invaded by an army of Clinton trolls (it’s a real thing) leaving sarcastic insults and not much else on my feed. There was an obvious similarity to them, meaning it was organized.

At around the same time, a bottom-feeder at Slate wrote a hit piece on me that had nothing to do with anything. Except obviously it was politically motivated. It was so lame that I retweeted it myself. The timing of the hit piece might be a coincidence, but I stopped believing in coincidences this year.

All things considered, I had a great week. I didn’t realize I was having enough impact to get on the Clinton enemies list. I don’t think I’m supposed to be happy about any of this, but that’s not how I’m wired.

Mmm, critics. Delicious 🙂

P.S. The one and only speaking gig I had on my calendar for the coming year cancelled yesterday because they decided to “go in a different direction.” I estimate my opportunity cost from speaking events alone to be around $1 million. That’s based on how the rate of offers went from several per month (for decades) to zero this year. Blogging about Trump is expensive.

But it is also a system, not a goal. I wrote a book about that.

Update: Then they started leaving fake book reviews on Amazon to go after my book sales.

The Red Fascists of our land do not take kindly to opposition.  For them freedom means only the freedom to agree with them.

Orwell wrote 1984 as a warning. Crooked Hillary-worshipping rascals use it as a guide book. Keep deplorable my friends.

“Scott Adams, creator of Dilbert, gives a demonstration why a fair number of Trump supporters may be keeping their support a secret”

At the end of August my wife went on a retreat to a shrine with her rosary group. On the way back home they were talking politics. One lady said: “Have you noticed that there aren’t any election signs on people’s lawns? They are usually out by now”. She contended that more people support Trump than would want to admit.

So now it’s October in a town in a very blue state. I’ve seen only 2 Clinton-Kaine and zero Trump-Pence signs. There are hundreds of signs for the local candidates.

BTW, speaking of internet shenanigans, I’ve noticed that search engines are having a hard time finding the transcript of Hillary’s April 2015 speech in which she all but said that the power of government should be used to compel churches to change their beliefs on abortion. There was no such trouble six months ago. Articles that quote the transcript are of course still available.

I think Media Matters did attempt to organize their minions to comment on blogs defending Hellary. I’ve been a participant on boards which did seem to suffer orchestrated invasions of such people.

His experience with speaking invitations is telling. Where I’ve worked, the source of speaking invitations can be maddeningly obscure. Sometimes it’s some ad hoc faculty committee with three people on it. The roster of invitations mixes lame with maddening. One faculty member pointed out that you seldom see an accomplished academic in any field receive an invitation. It’s another example of how higher education finance allows unaccountable hydrogen-sulfide-emitting orifices to squander other people’s money.

I just sent this to you Don, but realized it would be relevant here too. Author recounts the trouble he went through when something in a book went against the orthodoxy.

There are not too many signs out in our area either. I tend toward Trump, but don’t dare say anything for fear of offending family (who are Never Hillary/Never Trump types).

I’m voting Trump. I live in Northeast Los Angeles. I am of Mexican descent. I will not plant a Trump-Pence sign on the lawn for the simple reason that my 89 year-old Dad lives with me and I don’t want any harm to come to him.

Regarding bumper stickers, I live in NY and see more Trump stickers than Hillary. Hillary will win NY by a wide margin, anyhow.
.
The other day I saw a walking, talking poster child for “redundancy”: the idiot’s Subaru had on it a Hillary bumper sticker.

Re: Nate Winchester’s link. Mr. Cole says nothing about informing superordinate officials at that publisher regarding the editor’s behavior. He needs to do this, and he needs to name the editor.

Speaking of living in a free society, has anyone read Angelo Codevilla’s essay on the post-republican American republic?
.
My overly aggressive summation: It doesn’t matter who wins the election because the Republic is already dead. We need to elect Trump to keep the Democrats from abusing the corpse.

Mr. Cole says nothing about informing superordinate officials at that publisher regarding the editor’s behavior. He needs to do this, and he needs to name the editor.

Art, he flat out says in the post he was removed from the production schedule and (in the previous post who’s title is at the bottom) fired from the publishing company. Unless you have counter-data, that stuff is usually outside the purview of an editor which proves pretty strongly that the “superordinate officials” were in agreement with the offending editor.

No clue what the division of labor at that company is. He indicates no correspondence with the higher-ups. If he’s dead meat with that publisher, he’s got nothing to lose by naming names.

Speaking either in favor of Trump or against Clinton is Democrat heresy calling for draconian penalties. Lucky for us burning at the stake is not as yet legal. I found this out the hard way by sending pro Trump, anti Clinton stuff to my 10 kids. A number of them said if I did it again I would be black listed on their e-mail. Imagine that from your own kids. This liberal ideology is obviously serious stuff to them–it is their religion.

We too have no signs up. Our neighbor has had every sign destroyed or desecrated. He puts them up.they are torn down. Oh by the way, he and his wife are retired liberal college professor’s. People are
so mean! How have we let this happen?

Mr Dowd, don’t feel bad. What once was a United family has been thrown into ash heap of this election cycle. The silence of the hierarchy in matters of faith and morals, true teachings of the “Church” is underwhelming. I use a rosary that started out with rougher glass beads that are becoming smooth and round!

I’d say it has more to do with the Hippy era fad of “I’ll abuse manners because I know it’s safe.”

Add in that schools and colleges have enabled that behavior– not that traditionally raised kids don’t have the same impulse, but my mom would’ve KILLED me if I’d pulled some of this junk– and the media demonizing those to the right of Stalin, and boom: only takes a few brainless jerks.
