Dave Griffey at Daffey Thoughts responds to the attack by the ghouls of ISIS on a Sufi Mosque in the northern Sinai that left 305 worshipers murdered:
Horrible. Animals and savages to be sure. God grant peace and strength to those impacted by this, whose lives were lost, who remain behind and are left with the hurt and the pain. God also soften the hearts of those who embrace this senseless slaughter as a means of righteousness. Help the nations of the world find a way to eliminate this and no longer tolerate an apathy based on accepting this as some new normal.
Go here to comment. My fear is that our elites want us to accept this as the new normal. Tut tutting about it by all the usual suspects and then nothing effective is done. Repeat for the next one, ad infinitum. Neo pacifism is strong among elites, our Pope being a typical example. The murderers of ISIS give the lie to such pacifism. They will not stop until they are stopped permanently by superior fire power. The prophet Rudyard Kipling predicted this long ago:

Later in the same poem he details where the policies of the fools who currently lead the West are headed:

Evidently our elites fail to understand war and peace.
I wonder… Perhaps our elites understand war and peace just fine,
but doing little to stop terror serves their purpose. It’s a terrorized
populace that would allow its government to confiscate guns from

liberties might be more easily eroded if our elites could persuade
us that they could only make us secure if we handed over our more

I find comfort in studying tactics– for example, this used one of their two main tactics. The first is to set two sets of bombs, with the second going off to take out those helping. The second is to set bombs and then target the kill-zones of people fleeing. That may be familiar to those of a certain age from the Columbine shooting; if they don’t have enough people, you make sure they can’t use most of the exits.
The solution to that is to not focus on the obvious thing– the bleeding people, or escape. Focus on probable attack angles, so that you can help the bleeding people, or you can escape.
ISIS operating in the Sinai is a surprise. They’ve been nearly liquidated in Iraq.

They’ve been operating there since Morsi was president of Egypt, though not under the ISIS brand name until later. The peak of their attacks on Christians came in March 2017; by May 2017 most Christians had left the Sinai. See:

A pity that ALL of the progressive parts of the soft colonialism of Kipling have been discarded in a rush to “liberalize” after WW II. It did provide some restraint to the worst passions of human nature. Today, instead of dealing with small insurrections by petty despots, we are left with the option of major conflict with truly evil people. Not exactly an improvement over the past century and a half.
