The Sabbath Was Made for Man

Dave Griffey at Daffey Thoughts gives us the latest good deed by a company cordially hated by most leftists:

During the big power outage at Atlanta’s airport, the often embattled food chain stepped up and provided food for stranded passengers.  And yes, it was a Sunday.  That’s what’s called living the Gospel, rather than just talking it.

Of course the restaurant chain has been the target of many attempts to have it banned from various locations, venues, campuses and even cities.  This because of its stance on gay marriage.  Nonetheless, almost every time it comes to doing the right thing, it shows itself as a company founded on living the Golden Rule, rather than using it in debates.

Well done Chick fil A.  That is a good witness.

Go here to comment.  The best preaching most Christians can do is simply to walk the walk.

Because my associate asked for prayers yesterday and her heavy heart coincides with the stance Chick fil A has taken, I will ask for your help.

She is refusing to attend her brothers homosexual so-called marriage proceedings and she is crushed. The pressure she is under by family members that see her position as mean spirited is enormous.

Please say a prayer for her.
Sister Ellie.

Thank you.

Ouch. Prayers, and sympathy both.

Prayers Philip. It is disheartening that so many individuals seen male sexual enemas as divinely inspired. Incomprehensible and disconcerting. There are many, many, good people standing with her. She is not alone. If she caves she will be doing her family a great disservice. The addiction to lust is not love but assault and battery in what ought to be friendship. Pity the poor sodomites. Imaging doing sodomy for all eternity in hell. Boring.
The joy of life in true love that is friendship is missing and the sodomites are oblivious. There will be no “pursuit of Happiness” for the sodomite. Truth and Freedom are found in wisdom and grace. Try it, you will like it.

Living out your faith is going to be uncomfortable… unless your a hypocrite.
Then you can talk the talk without ever having to walk the walk.
She is struggling because she loves.
Sodomy is sinful and her brother expects all family to embrace his sinfulness and now the acceptance of their union by an ill culture, hence the recent ruling on so-called Gay Marriage.

I feel for her.
Taking a stand for Christ isn’t always easy.
Catholicism which supports abortion on demand and Gay marriage is e a s y but so is the wide way to damnation.

Philip, Regarding Sister Ellie two Gifts of the Holy Spirit came to mind: Counsel – “we are able to judge how best to act almost by intuition. Because of the gift of counsel, Christians need not fear to stand up for the truths of the Faith, because the Holy Spirit will guide us in defending those truths.” The other, Fortitude – “It is ranked as the fourth gift of the Holy Spirit because it gives us the strength to follow through on the actions suggested by the gift of counsel. ”
O Holy Spirit, You who bestowed your Gifts upon Sister Ellie at Baptism and Confirmation, we now petition Thee to strengthen those gifts in her, especially of counsel and fortitude, so that she can withstand the pressures of her family and hold fast in her decision. Amen.
