Good find. An interesting exchange. In psychoanalysis for years, Woody is searching for something. I wish someone had asked them about psychoanalysis vs truly finding faith in God.
I don’t know if Allen is still an Agnostic in his elder years. His well publicized relationships with his children was a turn off. Don’t care to see his films anymore.

🙂
It’s interesting that Woody’s first acknowledgment to abhorrence of commandment is to honor thy father and mother.
Whether it is comedy or subconscious truth, he welcomes the meme of the day; question authority. Disobedience is honored whereas obedience is ridiculed and scorned.
Joking about placing his parents in a home he unwittingly is choosing his own home. This clip is precious because we can reflect on two lives lived out. One chooses his own will. Dylan Farrow in the attic, child molestation accusations. Disobedience has consequences.

The other life.
Not perfect but honorable.
Obedience and freedom. Joy. Faithfulness leads to Joy and Billy Graham had that Joy that self centered scoffers of Holy Scripture can not fathom. Woody was never convicted. His marriage with the young adopted daughter Soon-Yi is well….a perversion of honoring your father… maybe one Woody convinced Soon-Yi to obey.
