Well CNN last night had a little show trial of Republicans and the NRA, disguised as a townhall, in regard to the Florida school shooting. However, one of the true student heroes refused to participate:
Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School student Colton Haab said he was approached by CNN to ask a question at Wednesday night’s town hall but decided not to after the network gave him a “scripted question,” quashing one he wrote himself. Haab, a member of the Junior ROTC shielded students while the school was under attack from the shooter, said he was going to ask about using veterans as armed security guards.
“CNN had originally asked me to write a speech and questions and it ended up being all scripted,” Haab told WPLG-TV.
CNN aired a town hall on the Florida school shooting with Sens. Marco Rubio (R-FL) and Bill Nelson (D-FL) that included NRA’s Dana Loesch and Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel that was moderated by Jake Tapper. Students and parents asked questions about gun control and school safety.
“I expected to be able to ask my questions and give my opinion on my questions,” Haab said.
“Colton Haab, a member of the Junior ROTC who shielded classmates in the midst of terror says he did not get to share his experience,” WPLG’s Janine Stanwood explained.
“Colton wrote questions about school safety, suggested using veterans as armed school security guards but claims CNN wanted him to ask a scripted question instead so he decided not to go,” Stanwood reported.
“CNN had originally asked me to write a speech and questions and it ended up being all scripted,” Haab said. “I don’t think that it’s going get anything accomplished. It’s not gonna ask the true questions that all the parents and teachers and students have.”
Go here to view the video. CNN can always, always be depended upon to carry water for the Democrats. Dishonest is a weak term when applied to these party hacks disguised as journalists. If this country had honest news, the Democrats would be lucky to break forty percent in any election beyond inner city urban areas.
Back in the mid-70’s, right after Watergate, Gallup began to poll
Americans’ views on journalists, and 72% of Americans then
reported having a “great deal” or “fair amount” of trust in our
media. Forty years later, and Americans’ trust in journalists has
declined to 32% overall (and only 14% among those identifying
as Republicans). The credibility of our so-called journalists is
evaporating, and the profession does not appear to be interested
in reversing the trend, or even acknowledging its existence.
Myself, I refer to them as “presstitutes”. To script that young man’s
question is the opposite of finding out what he thinks, it’s reducing
him to a prop in a narrative they’re shaping and selling. It’s the very
opposite of journalism– it’s just manufacturing propaganda.
As for Colton Haab– God bless him. Gives me hope to see
youth like him out there.
All they do is lie. If you listen or read them you are misinformed. I could read today’s entire NY Times and write all the printed truths on an inch-square post-it.

Americans despise journalists more than they hate Congressmen.
One of the oddities of the last several generations has been the secular decline in diversity of opinion among those in word merchant occupations. In most colleges and universities, you see Republicans on the business and engineering faculties and a few like redoubts and that’s it. The other is the degree to which vocations have been consumed by social and political tribalism.
Many years ago, Bennett Cerf was interviewed for an oral history project and was asked about people he’d known in public life. He says that he, Arlene Francis, and John Daly had always been rather wary of Dorothy Kilgallan. “We didn’t like her politics”. And, also, she was a reporter every minute of the waking day, so what they said in the What’s My Line? dressing room might end up in her ‘Voice of Broadway’ column if they weren’t careful. Now go and read her father’s reflection on his seven-decades-plus in the newspaper business published at the time of his death. Father and daughter may have been loyal minions of the Hearsts, but they were also reporters with a zest for grabbing a story and telling it. I’m not sure such characters are to be found in the media anymore. Sheryl Atkisson, perhaps.
CNN is worse than tabloid news-trash. It deliberately twists and bends the story to fit the liberal narrative. An enemy of the state, CNN, and harmful to democracy since it’s goal is a communist America. MSM is bought and paid for.

If it had been a radical Muslim or MS13 that shot up the school, the coverage would be a lot different, wouldn’t it?
There would be calls not to over react, they’d be reminding us how safe schools are, how rare these things are, relatively. “You have a better chance of being struck by lightning…. under a full moon……during an earthquake…. and so on”
so predictable. “All the news…. that fits the narrative”
Personally, I think Loesch and Rubio deciding to participate in that sham of a townhall meeting was a boneheaded blunder. What did they think was going to happen?
Our side keeps losing the optics battle because they mistakenly regard optics as unimportant, by and large.

No our side gets that optics are important – and that setting one’s self up for a two-minute hate session actually ends up being a positive optic as some folks start to question whether they might actually be the bad guy. And let’s face it, until I hear a better idea of optics, the only way to puncture the bubble the left likes to put people in is to get in there and take some flak just in the hope to get one fact stuck in somebody’s mind.
Because I’ve seen enough testimonials that that’s all it takes.
Then CNN called the kid– who was one of those who risked their lives getting targets through doors, and keeping the shooter out– a liar.
Which brought parents of other students forward, saying CNN had been pretty dang picky about exactly who they’d listen to and what sort of pained reaction they’d recognize.
