Something for the weekend. I Hate Snow. Courtesy of Winter Storm Uma my little slice of Central Illinois is under a winter storm advisory today. This after a week of spring like weather. Depressing, but such is life in the Midwest where I have seen “Winter” occasionally in May.
We here, who persevere through New England winters, are more than content to keep the snow, if the other choice is to be in constant threat from tornadoes, hurricanes, mudslides and earthquakes.
*sympathy*
Don, just think of snow as one way that God makes the earth interesting.
Bob, that is a good way to describe Midwest weather: interesting.
An April 30th, late 1970’s, Naval Base Norfolk, standing on the pier waiting in the cold, wind and snowfall for my husband’s ship to arrive.
The quiet beauty once the snowfall has stopped, reminds me how lovely God’s creation is.
Wishing all a spring like Easter Day!
(I’m with Don.) In New England “most” of us love the snow; if it’s winter it might as well be white. Living here one needs to embrace winter, and it’s a lot prettier with more to do with the snow.
But come the end of March -OK… OK…. that’s…. enough…
Where’s the thermostat?
I like snow, for a season. Once March rolls around, I’m ready for spring.
Well, what do you expect with all this Global Warming?
Al Gore floating down the Mississippi in a block of ice would be nice, but that perhaps exceeds reasonable expectations.
It was 80 degrees today in South Louisiana. Just saying.
Phillip, Laramie low tonight 29; Lafayette low 64. Can see why younger son picked ULL over U WY.
I’m sick of the winter – and I love hockey.
When the youngest son is done with school, we are spending the winters where it doesn’t snow – either Sarasota or Cartagena, Colombia.
CAM,
I love Wyoming. Used to live in Idaho. Miss the West though your son has awesome food and, more importantly, an awesome Church and Bishop in Lafayette.
Phillip,
Yes, the food is excellent and like no where else. Good the hear about the Church and Bishop. Thank you, Your remark prompted me to take a virtual tour of the cathedral and find the Ragin Cajun Catholic website. Maybe there is a way to get him and his roommate cousin to set foot in Our Lady of Wisdom Center.
