There is also a growing number of names on this petition:

What a close knit group of power mongers in the Vatican doing nothing but circling wagons, stifling the proclamation of the Catholic faith, and ignoring persecutions in the Middle East and elsewhere!
(- speaking of the ‘environment’)

No kidding! Let’s jump right into the “plastic in oceans” meme and ignore the allegations at hand. I’m sorry, however this is not a good response from Rome. My apologies go to the Chair…not the man.
For centuries the Roman Catholic Church was considered the benchmark of Moral integrity. Today it looks like we can’t even get our own house straightened out. How can other entities look to her as a moral yardstick?

We must get this investigation underway post-haste!

Once cleaned out, we will use this example as a dark moment in Church history.
We will be reminded of just how far the leadership will avoid the rabbit hole to cuddle in the snake nest.

Please ask your Bishop’s for a complete examination immediately.

My wife signed the Catholic Women’s letter/petition last week. Yesterday a friend sent me a men’s version:

What centuries were those?

I will believe it when I see it. The hypocrisy and rot is DEEP in the church’s corps of presbyters. Many, like politicians, believe themselves above the law. They may find their truth in Hell…

What centuries?
Every single one of them.

Why?

Because She is the bride of Christ.
She is Mother yet more than any mother, Christ’s Mother. She is Holy even though her members stumble for holiness.
Archbishop Fulton Sheen said it best;

“If I were not a Catholic, and were looking for the true Church in the world today, I would look for the one Church which did not get along well with the world; in other words, I would look for the Church which the world hated. My reason for doing this would be, that if Christ is in any one of the churches of the world today, He must still be hated as He was when He was on earth in the flesh. If you would find Christ today, then find the Church that does not get along with the world. Look for the Church that is hated by the world as Christ was hated by the world. Look for the Church that is accused of being behind the times, as our Lord was accused of being ignorant and never having learned. Look for the Church which men sneer at as socially inferior, as they sneered at Our Lord because He came from Nazareth. Look for the Church which is accused of having a devil, as Our Lord was accused of being possessed by Beelzebub, the Prince of Devils. Look for the Church which, in seasons of bigotry, men say must be destroyed in the name of God as men crucified Christ and thought they had done a service to God. Look for the Church which the world rejects because it claims it is infallible, as Pilate rejected Christ because He called Himself the Truth. Look for the Church which is rejected by the world as Our Lord was rejected by men. Look for the Church which amid the confusions of conflicting opinions, its members love as they love Christ, and respect its Voice as the very voice of its Founder, and the suspicion will grow, that if the Church is unpopular with the spirit of the world, then it is unworldly, and if it is unworldly it is other worldly. since it is other-worldly, it is infinitely loved and infinitely hated as was Christ Himself. But only that which is Divine can be infinitely hated and infinitely loved. Therefore the Church is Divine.

Divinity and Moral superiority, imho, go hand in hand. It’s membership? Practicing. Always practicing, striving for holiness through the footsteps of our savior, carrying our cross after him. Stumbling, suffering, bleeding and gasping for air. All for love. Over a billion Catholics can’t be wrong. Our Church is and will continue to be morally superior regardless of the interior storms. Just look at the widow on her knees praying for this Church. Giving her last dollars for the month to help a stranger. Her humility and faith speaks volumes. Centuries of women and holy men too, sacrificing all for Her.. Holy Catholic Church.

Thank you for this. I’m praying Archbishop Peter Sartain, Archdiocese of Seattle will add his name to this. The Seattle area is in great need of prayer.
