Remember When Americans Thought This Only Happened in Communist Countries?

The good old days.  The bad new days:

Tyrannies rely on fear and make no mistake that the underlying message from the Left in regard to Brett Kavanaugh is that we will destroy anyone who stands against us, and we will use any and all means to do so.  Your reputation, your family, your livelihood mean less than nothing to them if you stand between the Left and their insatiable desire for power.  They are seeking to destroy what Americans have traditionally understood as freedom and replace it with one right:  the right to march in ideological lockstep as called by the Left

” For us in Russia, communism is a dead dog, while, for many people in the West, it is still a living lion.”

“Hastiness and superficiality are the psychic diseases of the 20th century, and more than anywhere else this disease is reflected in the press.”

– Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn

“Human rights’ are a fine thing, but how can we make ourselves sure that our rights do not expand at the expense of the rights of others. A society with unlimited rights is incapable of standing to adversity. If we do not wish to be ruled by a coercive authority, then each of us must rein himself in…A stable society is achieved not by balancing opposing forces but by conscious self-limitation: by the principle that we are always duty-bound to defer to the sense of moral justice.
Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn

His insight is timely imo.
This last quote mentions conscious self-limitation. A truth that trumps relativism. Today it’s change your sex, homosexuality is a right..a lifestyle choice, killing the unborn is legal and accusing an innocent individual to gain a position is acceptable.

Moral justice is an abstract concept if you believe that there isn’t an absolute truth.

Qui tacet consentire videtur, “he who is silent is taken to agree”, “silence implies/means consent”. Chrissy Blasey was silent in 1982. According to Deuteronomy 22, she should cry out at the first opportunity. Therefore, according to the law and the Bible, she consented to whatever happened.

Philip asks how can we prevent the unlimited expansion of rights. Answer: we can’t, but we have to try. I’d lean very heavily on the Declaration of Independence which essentially protects, but also limits our untouchable “rights” to those given us by “Nature’s God.” In other words, no women has the solitary “right” to slaughter her own God-given child in the sanctuary of her womb. That right doesn’t exist.

A person who claims unlimited rights under the dictatorship of moral relativism is placing blind faith in themselves.

We refrain from judging the state of any person’s anima but the persona of the modern Democratic Party gives us cause for pause. When the Communist Party fell in Russia, it seems the devils driven out fled to inhabit a new host. “Legion” into the Swine of Gerasa comes to mind, with a new set of pigs. Pray for them.
