And in despair I bowed my head;
“There is no peace on earth,” I said;
“For hate is strong,
And mocks the song
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!”

Then pealed the bells more loud and deep:
“God is not dead, nor doth He sleep;
The Wrong shall fail,
The Right prevail,
With peace on earth, good-will to men.”

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day (1863)

The above is a tweet by a writer for Stephen Colbert’s show, the same show that some Catholics, looking at you Bishop Barron, have been blind enough to praise.  Go here to read about the tweet.  After the tweet raised a storm, she locked her twitter account, deleted it and eventually apologized.  The tweet in itself is unimportant but it does reveal the depth of hatred that has found a home on the Left in this country, and that is beginning to find a home on the Right.  God help us all.

  Bohemian Rhapsody and Shakespeare go together like pepperoni pizza and bleach.  Enjoy.

Journal of the Abraham Lincoln Association

Fellow citizens, we cannot escape history. We, of this Congress and this administration, will be remembered in spite of ourselves. No personal

Saint of the Day Quote: Blessed Josephine Leroux

Among the last of the nuns to be martyred during the French Revolution, she and seven other nuns were guillotined on October

  1. Guessing the context made it clear, but I would’ve taken this as celebration of judge K being confirmed. I know I was wondering if the open false witness would succeed.

  2. I struggle to understand the hatred of the political left in the USA. When will the true Americans start the push-back against this idiocy? Time to start using the rule and authority of the law against this extreme aggresive left before it gets any worse. Indictments against Dem senators and their ilk who promote this kind of violence is just a start. A subversion lawsuit against Soros should happen; after all, its better than sending him a bullet (not by mail either) 😉

  3. Ariel is one of the Archangels. No, Ariel, you did not ruin Bret Kavanaugh’s life. Perhaps maybe in your dreams but no, not in the public square, nor in my mind. You just made your self look like a jackass.

  4. Colbert is a “special needs” Catholic.
    He is catholicism challenged.
    He speaks as one with great authority in Catholic matters for amusement and dis-information purposes. An agent of Soros.
    A traitor.

    Boycott the advertisers that are featured during his program…then you’ll be doing him and all America a huge favor! Please.

  5. I would actually have to watch his program to boycott his advertisers. I guess no good deed goes unpunished….

  6. c matt

    It has been three years and change since I actually sat in front of his program. I couldn’t get through his monologue due to the content and blatant disrespect for conservatives.

    Pipe dream warning!!!……
    If enough folks took to boycott and emailed our reasoning behind it to the heads of the corporations being targeted maybe things would change. Big maybe.
    Pipe dream ending now.

  7. Philip – The tactic you suggest would work, if enough pep[le cared enough to carry it out. And it would work against Planned Parenthood/Susan G Komen/ American Cancer Society corporate sponsors also. But people are too lazy to close their Chase accounts, get rid of their Nikes, their Fords, frequent flier benefits on American and Southwest Airlines, and cancel their reservations at Wyndom, Mariott, etc, hotels.

  8. Edie.

    Unfortunately I must agree with you.
    A time may come when one party declares the other party enemies of the state. In so doing all rights will be null and void. A new Socialist United America will be presented as a progressive enlightened government where anyone speaking against said government will be shipped off to recalibration camps…
    then…when they look back at their choice to support Nike, Chase, American and Southwest airlines et al, they might reconsider their past complacency while eating government bread and cheese and watching re-runs of Mr. Colbert’s program which aired twenty years prior in 2018.

    Then it will be too late.

    A civil war is not a solution that comes to ones mind easily due to our complacency which incorrectly assures us of certain conveniences amid the turmoil of current governance, however we can not afford to ignore the writing on the wall. The Kavanaugh crucifixion as example.
    The generations of socialists being hatched from so-called universities is supporting biased political propaganda via entertainment and so-called news organizations.
    This is obvious of course.

    What will it take for U.S. to tell conglomerates that we have had enough bull sh-t thrown in our direction and that we would rather choke your profits than hear another cheap bought and paid for entertainer(s) demean half of the American populace?

    Voting is Our Voice!
    Protection of our Constitution and the Bill of Rights is paramount.
    I pray that Trump hits a triple when Ruth Bader Ginsburg has her “untimely” event, and the Supreme Court of these United States will have another vacancy. In God’s timing.
    In God’s speed.
