Synagogue Slaughter

Jesus wept:

A gunman opened fire in a Pittsburgh synagogue on Saturday morning, killing 11 people and injuring six others, including four police officers, before being taken into custody, authorities said.

Pittsburgh Public Safety Director Wendell Hissrich said police were dispatched to Tree of Life Synagogue at 9:55 a.m. after receiving calls that there was an active-shooter situation at the scene, in the city’s predominantly Jewish Squirrel Hill neighborhood.

In all, he confirmed, 11 people died, though none of them were children. As for the injury tally, he said it did not include the shooter, who was taken to the hospital after being taken into custody.

Go here to read the rest.  The suspect, Robert Bowers, judging from his social media droppings, is a Trump hating Nazi.  Go here to read about him.  After learning of this event I recalled this poem by Robert Frost, based upon Inferno Canto 32:

Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I’ve tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.

As I posted elsewhere, So the synagogue murderer in Pennsylvania yesterday – Robert Bower – is a Trump hating anti-Semite who put to death 11 people. And the wacko nit wit who sent dud bombs to Democratic politicians last week is a Trump lover. Trump isn’t the problem. We are. Luke 13:1-7

There were some present at that very time who told him of the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices. 2 And he answered them, “Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans, because they suffered thus? 3 I tell you, No; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish. 4 Or those eighteen upon whom the tower in Silo′am fell and killed them, do you think that they were worse offenders than all the others who dwelt in Jerusalem? 5 I tell you, No; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish.”

People do not know who they are. If persons acknowledged The Supreme Sovereign Being and know that we are brothers and sisters of Jesus Christ, people will love one another or at least tolerate one another’s beliefs. I blame the removal of Freedom of religion and the dissemination of the Ten Commandments from the public square. “Thou shalt not kill in stealth” goes for everybody. “Do unto others as you would be done unto ” The Golden Rule must be enforced. The murderer’s power of attorney, his citizenship cries out for Justice, his innate sense of Justice cries out to find him on the gallows.

Speaking of the Passover Haggadah and the words, “This is what has stood by our fathers and us! For not just one alone has risen against us to destroy us, but in every generation they rise against us to destroy us; and the Holy One, blessed be He, saves us from their hand!” my French law agent (whom I have known since 1968) remarked: “Quick synopsis of every Jewish holiday: ‘They tried to kill us; we won; let’s eat.’”

This happened 20 minutes from my house. Squirrel Hill is one of the nicest city neighborhoods that exist in any American city. It’s the Jewish hub in Western Pennsylvania.

Trump came into Pittsburgh today during afternoon rush hour. Of course, some of the local politicians – Mayor Bill Peduto in particular – didn’t want Trump to show up. Given that Trump’s daughter Ivanka and her family is Jewish, it is of concern to him, but the crybaby Democrats who run Allegheny county are still mad that the Hildebeast lost.
