Thought For the Day

Three-Fifths of a Brain

News that I missed, courtesy of The Babylon Bee:   WASHINGTON, D.C.—Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez came out hard against the Electoral College,

Saint of the Day Quote: Saint Jane Antide Thouret

Remember to consider only Christ in the person of the poor.  Serve them always as you would serve Christ himself.

  1. Accelerating Economic/GDP Growth; Record High Stock Markets; Skyrocketing 401K/IRA Account Balances; Record Low Unemployment; Lower Taxes; Fewer Regulations; ISIS On The Run; Ban On Christmas Ended; . . . STOP THE MADNESS! VOTE DEMOCRAT! IMPEACH TRUMP!

  2. T. Shaw, I must take umbrage with your sarcasm. In Jesus Christ there was no guile.
I was the original smartass. In my year book I was dubbed “the stoner from way back” Who me? I never realized that what I thought was funny was not…not funny at all.
Now, I realize sarcasm makes a fine point. ..but mistaken and it may be mistaken, it may cause disruption in the minds of others. How you might ask? Actually reading the capital letters HURT. Stick in the mud that I am, it took me forty years to curb my mouth, constantly must censor my mind and you know I am more please with myself. I say what I mean straight forwardly, plain and simple.
I still go over Cooch’s Bridge Battlefield and I remember and pray for you every time. I thank you for telling me about it.
the list of Trump’s accomplishments are also appreciated. I will save your comment.

  3. @ Mary De Voe.

    As I read your post this morning I was embarrassed. I know you addressed this to T. Shaw, however the shoe fits over here. I appreciate the post because I can try to refrain from overly sarcastic remarks..and I don’t think twice prior to posting them. I’m going to make an effort to slow down and try to remember that everyone is a potential friend of God. In hope for a positive response from our neighbors come Tuesday I will share these worthy words;

Almighty God, Who has given us this good land for our heritage; We humbly beseech Thee that we may always prove ourselves a people mindful of Thy favor and glad to do Thy will. Bless our land with honorable ministry, sound learning, and pure manners. Save us from violence, discord, and confusion, from pride and arrogance, and from every evil way. Defend our liberties, and fashion into one united people, the multitude brought hither out of many kindreds and tongues. Endow with Thy spirit of wisdom those whom in Thy name we entrust the authority of government, that there may be justice and peace at home, and that through obedience to Thy law, we may show forth Thy praise among the nations of the earth. In time of prosperity fill our hearts with thankfulness, and in the day of trouble, suffer not our trust in Thee to fail; all of which we ask through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. – Thomas Jefferson, A Prayer for the Nation, 1801

This was in today’s; Make America Holy Again, email from Fr. Heilman

    Peace Mary and T. Shaw

  4. Dear Mary,

Thank you. When acted in Charity, among the Spiritual Works are: Admonish the Sinner; Counsel the Doubtful; Instruct the Ignorant.

I was in a mood. Glad, you didn’t see yesterday’s facebook sarcasms. .

Sarcasm is the lowest form of humor. It’s lost on soulless, brainwashed zombies that cannot accept the fact that the glorious 2016 election was not an aberration.

Maybe after almost three years, they’re entering the final stages of grief: depression and acceptance. .

  5. Wow! We made it all the way through the weekend before the election without a leak coming out of the Office of the Special Prosecutor. I was sure their would be some kind of unconfirmed report from anonymous sources inside the office announcing major indictments or something.

  6. @T. Shaw
“Maybe after almost three years, they’re entering the final stages of grief: depression and acceptance. .”
“That brood of vipers” will never stop being greedy for power. Do not for a moment turn you back on them. The devil never sleeps.
There is Jesus Christ crucified. In this sign you will conquer.
There is the Blessed Virgin Mary. The Blessed Virgin Mary was never embarrassed. What would Mary do?
What heartwarming remarks form both you Philip and T. Shaw. Thank you. I am saving Thomas Jefferson’s prayer. It is beautiful.
    God’s speed.
