Saint of the Day Quote: Saint Catherine Laboure
Donald R. McClarey
Cradle Catholic. Active in the pro-life movement since 1973. Father of three, one in Heaven, and happily married for 41 years. Small town lawyer and amateur historian. Former president of the board of directors of the local crisis pregnancy center for a decade.
Sacramentals should never be underestimated in their role of conversion, especially the Miraculous Medal.
St. Maximillian Kolbe called it the “Silver Bullet,” penetrating the most hardest of hearts.
St. Teresa of Calcutta was armed with these spiritual weapons and used them frequently.
Explaining the role of Mary Immaculate while ministering to our neighbors, co-workers and family is an act that will survive the final fire. Recalling the wisdom of these words; The only things that you can take to heaven are the things you gave away with love.
“Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow has not yet come. We have only today. Let us begin.” -Mother Teresa
Vocation of Service
God bless all the fishers of men.
Regarding final fire…
1st. Cor. 3:13;
Douay-Rheims Bible
Every man’s work shall be manifest; for the day of the Lord shall declare it, because it shall be revealed in fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work, of what sort it is.
Happened to read a book on Catherine years ago. Have worn the Immaculate medal ever since . Once you know the story, it’s very hard not to.
The medal is not an artist’s representation of what the BVM looks like. It’s an image straight from heaven.
