Seasonal Blasphemy

It is the Left’s favorite time of the year to utter blasphemies and so demonstrate their complete contempt for believing Christians:

A Minnesota professor suggested in a series of tweets that the Virgin Mary did not consent to the conception of Jesus Christ and suggested that God may have acted in a “predatory” manner.

Minnesota State University, Mankato psychology professor and sex therapist Dr. Eric Sprankle critiqued the story of the Virgin Mary in a tweet Monday, suggesting that the Virgin Mary did not consent to being impregnated by God.

Go here to read the rest.  I guess the idiot bigot wanted publicity.  Mission accomplished phony doc.  Before you tweet next time you might wish to read the Magnificat:

My soul doth magnify the Lord,And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.

Because He hath regarded the humility of his handmaid: for behold from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed.

Because He that is mighty hath done great things to me, and holy is His name.

And His mercy is from generation unto generations to them that fear Him.

He hath shewed might in His arm: He hath scattered the proud in the conceit of their heart.

He hath put down the mighty from their seat, and hath exalted the humble.

He hath filled the hungry with good things, and the rich he hath sent empty away.

He hath received Israel His servant, being mindful of His mercy.

As He spoke to our fathers; to Abraham and his seed forever.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost, as it was in the beginning is now, and ever shall be, world without end.

More to explorer

  1. Or read Luke 1:38. Looks like consent to me.

Sometimes I think professors have never actually been around people.

  2. A very knowledgeable person once told us that we can either be for him or we are against him. Not choosing therefore, is not an option, but is a firm choice.

  3. It was, as you said, a cheap publicity stunt.

But remember, the Internet (especially social media) is basically the wall of a restroom along the interstate. What do you EXPECT to be written there?

  4. Wouldn’t it be cool if somebody would drive up that school with a dump truck full of candy canes and just dump it out in pile all over the playground?

I wonder if you could set up a go fund me for that.

  5. My favorite; primordial goo, (soup)

Explaining that goo is just a barrel of laughs. You gotta admit.
Non believers are a source of great grace when viewed as a soul to be captured for Christ.
    Fishers of men.

Otherwise they are just another source of cheap entertainment boarding on disaster and the death’s of millions. Not funny…but primordial goo,(soup)

  6. Truth, Nate. “I am the handmaid of the Lord. . . ” Think of the Annunciation and desire the love of humility. Meditate on Mary’s humility when the angel Gabriel greeted her with, “Hail, full of grace!”

Some so-called intellectuals either are idiots with credentials or are rank liars.

One of my fishing buddies is an atheist. We have tried to convert him, but to no avail.

Even worse, the son-in-law of one of the guys is a Norse pagan – seriously!?!?!

In both cases, the pity is there is no vaccine for stupid.

He looks like a bloody pick-up artist.

I doubt there’s a terrible shortage of academic psychologists, so it’s puzzling that they hired someone with a clinical degree rather than a research degree to teach in a unit of the arts and sciences faculty. Amazing how standards go out the window when that’s what the insiders want. Trustee nonfeasance, as usual.

  8. No one is compelled to convert or to even accept evangelization. Yet the atheist uses atheism as a power play to deprive Christians of their freedom of religion, of speech, press and peaceable assembly. Atheism uses government and our First Amendment to deprive citizens of our First Amendment freedom. Atheism uses government and our First Amendment freedom to deny the rational, immortal human soul infused at fertilization and endowed with sovereign personhood to abort our constitutional Posterity.
We, the people, are being tyrannized by our own freedom and by tyrants.
Since all men are created equal, atheists are no better or more equal than the rest of us, it is time to ignore the ignorance spewed by atheism.
It is time for the atheist to man up and acknowledge that he is as free as any citizen to just say “no” if he so chooses or is the atheist so dumb?

  9. The principal of the school is a public servant who must do as the parents who pay his salary dictate.
The Supreme Sovereign Being is three Persons in one God. Sovereign personhood is the image and free will is the likeness of God in man. Tyrants must deny the sovereign personhood and free will to enslave people.
Government is instituted through the consent of the governed. Without free will, we have no consent to govern ourselves. The tyrant steps in an governs us the way he chooses with his free will.
Patriotism and citizenship is good will for the common good.
Peace on earth to men of good will.
Our Lady sublimated her will to the will of God from the very first moment of her existence as did Jesus Christ. Sublimation to the will of God is anathema to the power mongers, the atheists and Satan. The devil is no atheist.
The parents need to demand that Christmas be celebrated as the parents pay the principal’s salary. The parents may create and bring the Christmas Party to the school. (All public schools, public lands, public waterways, public domain belongs to the public in joint and common tenancy. This is the rule through which the atheist has taken over our heritage. Government owns NOTHING). The Parent Teacher Association used to do this before the communist party took over the schools.

  10. I am not one who is normally offended by verbal cheap shots against the faith. After all, if they have a problem with the faith, it’s THEIR problem, not mine. Furthermore, they usually do so to get a reaction. So, why give them the satisfaction of showing them I’m upset?

However, when they do it at taxpayer expense, as is often done in public schools, that’s a different matter.

After all, if they are going to blaspheme, they should at least have the decency to do it on their own dime.

  11. The sad thing is that some Christians attitudes are just about as bad as the professor’s are. I’ve seen too many Protestant comments on articles about Marian veneration where Mary’s only function was to give birth to Jesus and that is pretty much the end of the story. Their presentation is almost like God is acting like Harvey Weinstein, and that the Incarnation was a one-night stand.

  12. Best response I’ve seen to this:
Short intro quote, there are several paragraphs:
    Suburbanbanshee • 2 days ago
God sends an angelic ambassador to negotiate with Mary, not with her parents. Angel is respectful, polite, and assumes Mary is au courant with Messianic prophecy. Mary is offered an important role in fulfilling the prophecies.

  13. As the Immaculate Conception, Mary had full informed consent from the very first moment of her existence. Mary sublimated herself to God and vowed her perpetual virginity.
God has privileged all men with free will. Mary has unblemished free will in her soul. Mary used her free will to do the will of God.
Blaspheming only proves that blasphemers have darkened minds and souls and are imprisoned by the devil. FREEDOM.

  14. “As the Immaculate Conception, Mary had full informed consent from the very first moment of her existence.” Being conceived free from all taint of original sin DOES NOT imply being infused with knowledge of what pregnancy and motherhood are. Of course, God could have infused Mary with such knowledge, but the evidence is that He did not. The sending of the angel Gabriel to Mary at the Annunciation and Mary’s question “How can this be…” must have been for a reason, either to do exactly what they appear to be doing — the angel giving information to Mary, Mary giving consent to God — or else a sort of ritual acceptance for the public record. If the latter option were intended, though, a third-party witness should have been present — probably St. Joseph.

Besides, both a commitment to God and a marriage commitment are properly acts of faith, not sight.
