GraveDiggers

My favorite living historian nails it:

There is really an inequality of the law. I mean we talk about the elites but think about the array of people who have not told the truth. Andrew McCabe was fired for lying to federal investigators. We don’t know what’s going to happen to him. So far, he hasn’t faced criminal charges but the inspector general said he was lying.

James Comey’s statements about the FISA court and the role of the dossier are not true. James Clapper lied under oath to Congress. John Brennan lied under oath to Congress. Susan Rice lied when she said she did not request surveilled transcripts and have them unmasked.

We know that Huma Abedin and Cheryl Mills lied when they said they did not have knowledge of the e-mail server of their boss Hillary Clinton. That’s not even getting into the deception of the FISA court or the way that the investigations went on the email scandal, or putting informants in a presidential campaign.

The second thing, from a historical point of view, we’ve had a lot of wrongdoing by elites and there’s been no consequences. So the American people are not paranoid, they’re saying, the Mueller investigation is going here but they are going after misdemeanors or nothing and here these felonies go completely unaddressed.

Then finally, this Mueller investigation is not in isolation. We had if you remember from the day Trump was elected, we were told that the voting machines were fraudulent, we’re going to sue. Then there was a group, you remember about the electoral college, we had to overturn to the electors and then we went to the 25th Amendment that Trump was unbalanced. And then that didn’t work. Then we went to the emoluments clause. He profited even though his businesses lost a billion dollars? And then we have gone to Mueller.

So there’s a slow motion, if you will, I don’t want to be psychodramatic like MSNBC does, but there is sort of a slow-motion coup to overturn the elections when we should just take a deep breath and say, we have a chance to adjudicate this in the next election and we do not want to destroy over two centuries of American constitutional jurisprudence.

Go here to read the rest.  There is a lot about Trump I do not like.  His abrupt withdrawal from Syria yesterday, taking our military by surprise, was an example of Trump at his worst.  However, Trump has performed an invaluable service by demonstrating how much contempt the ruling elites have in this country for the preferences of the people, expressed at the ballot box in 2016, when those preferences do not coincide with their own.  If this Republic of ours dies, they will be the gravediggers and not Trump.

“…and we do not want to destroy over two centuries of American constitutional jurisprudence.”
Oh, but they do want to destroy over two centuries of American constitutional jurisprudence because they are jealous, very jealous, eternally jealous.

One man’s “take” Paul Craig Roberts, “Nowhere in the West, except possibly Hungary and Austria, does government serve the people.”

Unlimited government elites whine that a country has become “ungovernable” when ordinary people resist their schemes which adversely impact normal people. Are the Paris riots a “Lexington and Concord” of the people’s revolution against climate cult’s monarchical rule? The glorious 2016 election revealed that millions of ordinary Americans had wised-up and turned against the elitist oligarchs- GOP and Democrat.

“Nowhere in the West do the people count. The American working class, betrayed by the Democrats who sent their jobs to Asia, elected Donald Trump and the American people were promptly dismissed by the Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton as ‘the Trump deplorables.’

“The Democrats, like the Republicans, serve power, not the people.

“The question before us is whether the Western peoples are too brainwashed, too firmly locked in The Matrix, too exhausted to stand up and defend their freedom.”

I think the problem is two fold:

1. For the nexus of forces who use the Democratic Party as their electoral vehicle, elections and adjudication are just games you play to get what you want. The only legitimate outcome of said games is that you get what you want. If you don’t, you meddle with the rules post hoc. Pete Spiliakos nailed it when he said the Democrats play Calvinball. They’re pretty confident that none of this chicanery will bite them on the ass.

2. The same nexus of forces have no place for truth. There are parries. There is discourse. But there is no circumstance where they can ever be compelled to acknowledge the horsesh!t. The significance of the Kavanaugh imbroglio is that it manifested both an indifference to any concept of fair play and manifested within it was an adamant refusal, when a situation was presented them with a half-a-dozen indicia of nonsense, to acknowledge the nonsense. A minor example would be an exchange I had with a history professor at Bethel College, where every indicator that she was not to be trusted was twisted around in his head and interpreted as an indicator that she’d suffered ‘trauma’. (Prof. Haas is one of three exhibits I can think of you’d use to build a case that liberal evangelicals have the mentality of party hacks).

The continued functioning of constitutional government given the political culture we faced (atop its extant institutional defects) is going to be a challenge. The next time I encounter a partisan Democrat or a NeverTrumper who has any sense of this will be the first. They are clueless.

Paul Craig Roberts is a cray-cray 9/11 truther. I don’t think one should squander one’s time reading anything he writes.

The lies are going to be the nails in their coffins. Americans will stand up! Civil war isn’t wanted but it will come because of the perpetual omissions and distortions of truth.

Take courage.
The Left is spineless.
They will loose.
They do not believe in God or God’s law.

Did you catch this? This woman isn’t one of those Millennial nosepickers knocking each other over to provide pro bono services to Gitmo residents. She’s been practicing law for nearly 50 years and was hired by Leon Jaworski back in the day to work in the Watergate Special Prosecutor’s office. She’s only a tad younger than Alan Dershowitz.

Yes, as usual VDH nails it– we now have two tiers to our justice
system: one tier for the well-connected who may do illegal
things with impunity, and another tier for all the rest of us, for
whom illegal acts have consequences. As an acquaintance
of mine remarked yesterday, “having two tiers of justice is
having no justice at all”.
