The Home of Anti-Catholic Bigots

In case there is any doubt that anti-Catholicism is a driving force in the Democrat Party today:

A judicial nominee faced questions from Senators this month about whether membership in the Knights of Columbus might impede his ability to judge federal cases fairly. The Knights of Columbus say that no candidate for public office should have to defend his membership in a Catholic service organization.

Senators Mazie Hirono (D-HI) and Kamala Harris (D-CA) raised concerns about membership in the Knights of Columbus while the Senate Judiciary Committee reviewed the candidacy of Brian C. Buescher, an Omaha-based lawyer nominated by President Trump to sit on the United States District Court for the District of Nebraska.

Senators also asked whether belonging to the Catholic charitable organization could prevent judges from hearing cases “fairly and impartially.”

In written questions sent to Buescher by committee members Dec. 5, Sen. Hirono stated that “the Knights of Columbus has taken a number of extreme positions. For example, it was reportedly one of the top contributors to California’s Proposition 8 campaign to ban same-sex marriage.”

Hirono then asked Buescher if he would quit the group if he was confirmed “to avoid any appearance of bias.”

“The Knights of Columbus does not have the authority to take personal political positions on behalf of all of its approximately two million members,” Buescher responded.

“If confirmed, I will apply all provisions of the Code of Conduct for United States Judges regarding recusal and disqualification,” he said.

Kathleen Blomquist, spokesperson for the Knights of Columbus, told CNA that the senators’ questions echoed the kind of anti-Catholicism seen in previous generations of American history.

“Our country’s sad history of anti-Catholic bigotry contributed to the founding of the Knights of Columbus, and we are proud of the many Catholics who overcame this hurdle to contribute so greatly to our country,” Blomquist told CNA.

Go here to read the rest.  Any Catholics voting today for the party of the Jackass, are as blind as any Jews who voted for the Nazi party in 1933.

There’s a lot of blind Catholics. Just like there’s a lot of Jews who seem not to care about their coreligionists in Israel.

Senator [I Know Nothing] Mazie Hirono (D-HI) and Kamala [I Know Less Than Nothing] Harris (D-CA) are exemplars of anti-Catholic bigotry.

Let’s see them shriek if President Donald J. Trump nominates a hugely-qualified, anti-abortion Catholic female such as Amy Coney Barrette (mother of seven – two adopted) to replace Ruth Bader [Only The Good Die Young] Ginsburg.

1. Harris (the daughter of a pair of professors) insisted as a youth on attending out of state schools (one of them private). For the added trouble and expense, she selected two rather unprepossessing institutions to attend. Took her a couple of tries to pass the bar exam. She landed a position as a junior prosecutor in San Francisco and then laid the foundation for a career in politics with a long casting-couch audition for Willie Brown.

2. Hirono reportedly grew up poor as a church mouse, but attended Georgetown Law School on the other end of the country. You can see what the Society of Jesus does for the us. She hasn’t actually practiced law in 30 years (and never put too many years into it). In her dotage, she has her staff put together questions for her. It would appear this task was delegated to one of Ben Rhodes’ proverbial 27-year-olds-who-know-nothing.

Harry Truman once said that when he arrived in the Senate, he said to himself, “I can’t believe I got here”. After six months of dealing with other Senators, he said to himself, “I can’t believe they got here”. However bad they were, Senators of that vintage served in Congresses which managed after the close of WWii to balance the federal budget multiple times and shepherd the country through a severe post-war recession. Maisie Hirono, Kamala Harris, and the twits who work for them I’d wager fancy themselves a grand improvement on previous generations.

Senator Hirono then asked. “Mr. Buescher if confirmed, will you desist from bearing your sword in court? The NRA is a terrorist organization!”

One of the more challenging aspects of being a Knight is that the national organization is pretty conservative. There seems to be a real hesitancy to engaging in direct confrontation in the Culture Wars, even overt displays like large marches in full regalia shifting from the Boy Scouts to alternative scouting outfits like the Troops of St. George, and such. We are anything but “extreme.”

The complained-of positions are inherently Catholic. Indeed, they make up the core of the official positions of the Church in the political sphere. Thus, the objections are to Catholicism as our faith, not the Knights as an organization.

Harris has ambition to be the first female President. As we saw in Wikileaks, the Democrat Party has our number and knows how to sow confusion among Catholics. it seems likely to me that we will see a white-wash of this overt anti-Catholicism. It is up to us who are paying attention to remind our Catholic sisters and brothers that Kamala Harris hates us.

Did any bishop speak in defense of the Knights from these haters of the Church?
Did even the Grand Knight himself speak to this senatorial poison?
Crickets, again.

Similarly, anyone belonging to a Godless secular group would be disqualified because they couldn’t rule in favor of a Catholic issue objectively either.

Senators Mazie Hirono (D-HI) and Kamala Harris (D-CA) should have no fear from Catholics in the secular age of Pope Francis. Don’t they understand that Pope Francis is their friend?
