It really does feel like playing by the rules is for suckers these days.
From March 1st 1921 to today, almost 98 years later, what G. K. penned is more than relevant than ever. The dog and pony shows, aka Mueller, Kavanaugh hearings and Benghazi would spark G. K. Chesterton into a pillar of fire.
He might agree that there isn’t enough rope in D.C. to go around.
(His op-ed’s would be riveting!)
“It could probably be shown by facts and figures that there is no distinctly native American criminal class except Congress.” Mark Twain
This is off the topic but it’s a question I’ve wanted to ask on this site for awhile now. Do you think that there might be a schism between Rome and the American Church led by the traditionalist and followers of Cardinal Burke, like the breaking away of the Ukrainian Church from the Russian Orthodox Church?
Such a schism is almost impossible to envision. Largely because the schism from the schism in the American Church is all too easy to imagine in the aforementioned scenario.
Dear Mary,
Five minutes ago, I posted that Mark Twain quote as a comment on face book. What’s worse, they are idiots, too. Again, Twain “suppose you were an idiot. And, suppose you were a congressman. But, I repeat myself.”
