Shall I be plain? I wish the bastards dead;

Richard III, Richard III:  Act IV, Scene 2

The party of compassion strikes again:

Senate Democrats blocked a bill that would have required any medical practitioner in attendance to provide immediate medical care to an infant who had survived a late-term abortion. The Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, introduced by Sen. Ben Sasse (R-NE), required that:

any health care practitioner present exercise the same degree of professional skill, care, and diligence to preserve the life and health of the child as a reasonably diligent and conscientious health care practitioner would render to any other child born alive at the same gestational age.

The bill required “any child born alive to be immediately transported and admitted to a hospital.” Failure to comply would have resulted in a penalty of up to five years in prison.

This proposed legislation failed by a 53-44 margin. 60 votes were necessary for passage. Only three Democrats supported the measure including Joe Manchin (WV), Bob Casey (PA) and Doug Jones (AL). Three Republicans were not present.

Interestingly, a Marist poll of 1008 adults conducted between February 12th – 17th indicated a noticeable shift in sentiment from one month ago before Virginia Democratic Governor Ralph Northam’s comments brought the issue of late term abortion to the forefront. In January, the poll showed that 55% of respondents identified as pro-choice, 38% as pro-life and 7% as unsure. One month later, only 47% considered themselves pro-choice, 47% pro-life and 6% remained unsure. The poll’s margin of error was 3.5%.

  1. The 3 Republicans:

    Lisa Murkowski (AK)
    Kevin Cramer (ND)
    Tim Scott (SC)

Murkowski is pro-abortion. Not sure what Cramer and Scott’s excuses are, but I’m going to assume they’re pro-abortion as well.

  2. Catholics HAVE to see that supporting the Democrats is so contrary to our faith, and this includes Bishops, priests and laity! What over riding issue that the Democrats currently support that is so much more important than the defense of our unborn children and now children who are born that Catholics have to vote for them? Tell me! Is immigration more important? A gun ban? What?? Protecting LBGT? Climate Change? Hating Trump? Tell me Democrat supporting Catholics, which one is so important that you can turn your heads and vote to kill children?

  3. No, Cramer and Scott aren’t. More likely it was the knowledge that they were not going to get close to 60 votes. If the GOP regains the House in 2020, a very big If, the Republicans should nuke the filibuster for good, assuming they keep the Senate and Trump is re-elected.

  4. The Democrats, once the party of the worker, now worships BAAL, the false god of child sacrifice. The false religion in the Scriptures has a fundamental theme, namely that children exist for the benefit of the parents, are property of the parents, can be destroyed by the parent for economic benefit, or become slaves. The alternative to BAAL was the God of Israel, in the Torah, where children are the Children of God, parents are answerable to God for the ethics of how they treated God’s Children. The two different Gods, result in two different codes of ethics, based on these two premises: One code – the Torah – children belong to God; the code of BAAL, children are property of the parents to be sacrificed for economic gain.

  5. Don, correct me if I’m wrong, but it would seem to be the duty of every Prosecutor to bring to trial, for murder, anyone who kills a baby (born alive) or any other person. No NEW law is needed. If a person is injured, a doctor is probably also duty bound to help and if no help is offered or is deliberately withheld, he should be charged with negligent homicide.

  6. In the Law JFK there is infinite space between “should be” and “is”.
The simple truth is that except for Gosnell I can think of no successful prosecutions, and of course there is plenty of anecdotal evidence of disabled children being left to die, even when abortion is not an issue. When it comes to unwanted newborns, infanticide in hospitals is more than rare and it is almost never punished.

  7. Ernst, Thank you I was wondering who the three were.
Murkowski wouldn’t be in the Senate if it weren’t for the Dems and Mueller as the prosecutor in the Senator Stevens case. a verdict which was overturned but too late.
One would think that senators Scott and Cramer would have voted aye to have their votes recorded if they were not pro-abortion regardless how the forecast looked. In the next election cycle the voters of North Dakota and South Carolina will surely be reminded.

  8. The words “abortion” “infanticide”, “child sacrifice” and “Democrat” or “Republican” must from now on be linked together. For example: Infanticide supporter, Republican Lisa Murkowski (AK) announced today she will not be a candidate for Senate.

  9. Mary De Voe said; “The National Democratic Platform voted God out.”

The two camps. Each one has an agenda. To create a heaven on earth by any means possible or to help each other strive for holiness thus becoming inhabitants of heaven. The latter can not be done without God. The former will not be done with God.

The choices we make now define our affiliation as to which camp we are beholden to.

The reward of that choice will accompany the individual forever.

“Choose wisely,” the guardian of the Holy Grail suggested to Indiana Jones. Indeed.
Choosing Life is a choice for the inhabitants of the Church Militant and Church Triumphant. A camp with a glorious future.

The party of infanticide is doomed.

  10. “the Laws of Nature and Nature’s God” from our Declaration of independence have been violated by abortion and now infanticide.
“to secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity” from The Preamble of our Constitution, the purpose of our Constitution. Aborting George Washington’s constitutional Posterity is treason.
Redefining the human person as having no rational, immortal human soul is treason, homicide, and insanity as the sovereign personhood of the human soul institutes the state and the sovereignty of the nation.
Redefining the sovereign person as having no soul is atheism imposed on the people and totally irrational devoid of respect for oneself and one’s neighbor…a lie.
Roe v. Wade was decided to extort tax money to pay for abortion and now infanticide on demand, again redefining the human being as having no sovereignty, no personhood and no rational human soul.
So, here “We, the people” are, dictated to by a woman, an individual woman’s right to choose over our constitutional Posterity, our tax money, and our very conscience Roe. V. Wade forces all people to be complicit to homicide in the first degree without our informed consent, our vote or our common good.
Citizenship is good will for the common good. Patriotism is placing the common good above one’s own interests.
It is a tragedy that Mead and Benedict from “What caused the cause” did not bother to learn our Founding Principles and apply them to their work for an in depth vision of reality.

  11. Thank you for the video of Sen. Scott addressing the Senate. He is a very eloquent and a very pro-life man. How sad, how shameful that a law had to be drafted and voted upon to save the lives of newborns.
When did infanticide become legal? I bet most of the general public never even thought about botched abortions and the aftermath of the child or what happens when an imperfect baby is born and unwanted by the parents. Maybe we should be thankful that this heinous taking of a little life is now a national topic of discussion thanks to Governors Northampton and Cuomo. These children are martyrs; baptized by blood not water.

  12. Don’t most states require burial for stillborn and miscarriages beyond a certain date? My aunt and uncle were childless. They lost several sets of twins due to stillbirth and miscarriages. I remember my mother saying that these babies remains were buried.
I recently ran across a letter dated Dec 1940 to my father in flight training from Gordie and Isabel describing their grief.

  13. Cam: Some years ago there was a video of a Chinaman who worked in an abortion clinic. He brought home all of the children who survived, His house had 86 children in it, all over the place. His neighbors helped him feed them.

  14. Mary, was that in the U.S. or China?? Very impressive either way to save those children. Despite his place of work he had some respect for life. Bless him and his neighbors. I never knew there were botched abortions until the first time I heard a survivor speak.
