PopeWatch on Thursday received his long anticipated package from Pope Francis. After giving it a perfunctory sweep with a mine detector, PopeWatch carefully opened it, only to find another box. After five more boxes PopeWatch found a blueray of a Spanish dubbed version of The Maltese Falcon (1941). Attached to it was a note which read: “Gringo, you will find that this is an interesting video to watch. Pay special attention to what is said by Senor Greenstreet. What he said then is verdad today. Francis.” A mystery. PopeWatch hates mysteries. To be continued.
And with that PopeWatch is on Easter hiatus until April 22, 2019.
You just wait. It’s going to turn out that Francis meant something Greenstreet said in Casablanca, and he sent The Maltese Falcon by mistake.
