The Left Will Defend to the Death Your Right to Agree With Them

News that I missed courtesy of The Babylon Bee:

NEWARK, NJ—Everyone thought local man Peter O’Brien was a civil, friendly, and tolerant guy. He seemed normal. He seemed agreeable. He never disagreed with anybody or contradicted their ideas. In short, he was a perfectly well-adjusted member of society.

That is, until yesterday, when O’Brien blasted a coworker with these shocking words: “I disagree with your ideas.”

The hateful call to violent attacks on his coworker allegedly occurred during a lunch break. O’Brien just let the words hang in the air, not apologizing, not offering any clarification to the inciteful hate speech.

“Ex-excuse me?” his friend stammered, aghast.

The hateful, violent monster replied coolly, “I disagree with those ideas you just articulated. I still respect you as a person. But I don’t think your position is logically sound.”

Go here to read the rest.  The Left isn’t really good at argument any more, so yelling Shut Up tends to be the beginning and end at their efforts at persuasion.

Seen on Instapundit: Inez Stepman, “Conservative speech is violence, but violence against conservatives is speech.”

“I see.” said the blind man.

“You don’t have to listen if you don’t want to hear it.”
The greatest defamation of the human being in sovereign personhood is the obliteration of man’s free will, that is, freedom. Here is the answer to every charge of the Holy Scripture being a hate crime: “You don’t have to listen if you don’t want to hear it.” Hate crime laws are pushed to silence the truth about God and from God… the truth about abortion, pornography, sodomy.
Man is free to freely choose to not listen. Hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil…free
All men are created equally free to choose to not listen.
Our Eighth Amendment prohibits cruel and unusual punishment. The penalty must fit the crime. No gay cake, no profit from gay cake… in our fair land…fair enough.
Don’t like the book, leave it .
Being compelled to acknowledge sodomy or abortion or pornography as freedom is totalitarianism.
