PopeWatch: Required Reading

Two passages of the Catechism that seem more relevant with each passing day:

675 Before Christ’s second coming the Church must pass through a final trial that will shake the faith of many believers. The persecution that accompanies her pilgrimage on earth will unveil the “mystery of iniquity” in the form of a religious deception offering men an apparent solution to their problems at the price of apostasy from the truth. The supreme religious deception is that of the Antichrist, a pseudo-messianism by which man glorifies himself in place of God and of his Messiah come in the flesh.

676 The Antichrist’s deception already begins to take shape in the world every time the claim is made to realize within history that messianic hope which can only be realized beyond history through the eschatological judgment. The Church has rejected even modified forms of this falsification of the kingdom to come under the name of millenarianism, especially the “intrinsically perverse” political form of a secular messianism.

The world seems to me to be very ripe for the acceptance of secular messianism. Nature abhors a vacuum. Remove God from our lives and something else will quickly take His place.

How relevant this is. We look to someone to save us. Yet dig deeper and you will find anyone who has ever made a claim they are “doing it for the people” and place themselves on this redemptionist pedestal are really “doing it” for their own agenda- right or wrong- whatever that agenda may be. No one can possibly fix the worlds problems because each persons problems are unique to them. We can only live our life with God but our side. Only Christ has saved and can save. Without God we are up a creek without a paddle, so to speak.

I think we can interpret Catechism #675 as a probable reference to Pope (?) Francis who clearly is a type of the anti-Christ. Ann Barnhardt thinks he is the anti-Pope spoken of in visions. Also, Our Lady in her various appearances has mentioned corruption at the top of the Church. One thing for sure, Pope (?) Francis is going about destroying the Church day by day.

My position is that Pope (?) Francis status as Pope is uncertain given all the evidence we have now about his heresies and the way he was elected along with the questionable resignation of Pope Benedict.

Sr. Agnes of Akita –
On October 13, the anniversary of the Miracle of the Sun at Fatima, 1973, Sr. Agnes heard the beautiful voice speaking from the statue once more: “The work of the devil will infiltrate even into the Church in such a way that one will see cardinals opposing cardinals, bishops against other bishops. The priests who venerate me will be scorned and opposed by their confreres, churches and altars will be sacked. The Church will be full of those who accept compromises and the devil will press many priests and consecrated souls to leave the service of the Lord. The demon would be especially implacable against souls consecrated to God.”

The devil is having his day in Holy Catholic Church but his hour is soon ending. Perseverance and Trust in Jesus is our refuge. Daily Mass, Rosary and brown Scapula are lifelines secured to the Ship in case one is tossed overboard.

Pope Francis.
