Another Success Story For Socialism

I am sure the Socialists will get it right next time in their ongoing national experiments  with entire populations as so many lab rats:

The Cuban government announced Friday that it is launching widespread rationing of chicken, eggs, rice, beans, soap and other basic products in the face of a grave economic crisis.

Commerce Minister Betsy Diaz Velazquez told the state-run Cuban News Agency that various forms of rationing would be employed in order to deal with shortages of staple foods. She blamed the hardening of the U.S. trade embargo by the Trump administration.

Economists give equal or greater blame to a plunge in aid from Venezuela, where the collapse of the state-run oil company has led to a nearly two-thirds cut in shipments of subsidized fuel that Cuba used for power and to earn hard currency on the open market.

Cuba imports roughly two thirds of its food at an annual cost of more than $2.7 billion and brief shortages of individual products have been common for years. In recent months, a growing number of products have started to go missing for days or weeks at a time, and long lines have sprung up within minutes of the appearance of scarce products like chicken or flour. Many shoppers find themselves still standing in line when the products run out — a problem the government has been blaming on “hoarders.”

Go here to read the rest.  Marx once opined that religion is the opiate of the masses.  That is false, like almost everything else said or written by Marx, but socialism is certainly the opiate of power hungry would be Leftist revolutionaries and their cracked brain acolytes.  This would be funny if the body count, and the sheer human misery for so much of humanity, were not so great in these ongoing attempts to make economic realities accord with ideology.

Cuba is one of three net importers of food in the Western Hemisphere. (Venezuela and Suriname are the others). The quantum of arable land per person is actually higher in Cuba than it is in most other Caribbean countries.

And if America fell into the pit of Socialism where taxes force the closure of medium size businesses..taxes chase the independent hard working business owner out of country…mediocrity reigns…then who, or where will the aid come from to support Cuba or Venezuela?

From the Vatican?

Who will bail out the New Socialists of America?

The Clinton Foundation?
Bill and Milinda Gates?
George Soros?
Oprah?

Add to this never ending string of bitterly sad disasters the nation of Somalia. Many do not know that Somalia was a relatively successful nation while being occupied by the Italians and then under British and Italian protectorate status from 1945 to 1960. Mogadishu at one time (1960’s) was called “The White Pearl of the Indian Ocean,” it was such a prosperous city.

Then after becoming an independent republic in 1960, the Marxist Leninist dictator Siad Barre took over in 1969, nationalized all the industries, seized land, and created government monopolies that only benefited, as usual, the Marxist-Leninist party leaders. It all eventually collapsed as they always do.

Of course, that set the stage for the UN to declare Somalia “a failed state” in the 1990’s when Barre was finally ousted and Mohammed Farrah Aidad seized power, total chaos ensuing. ‘“Blackhawk Down.” US police-keeping under UN rules.

And eventually we have the disaster called Somalia today.

Socialist communism is a pure design of the devil.
