WASHINGTON, D.C.—Trying to get to the bottom of how and why President Trump was elected, House Democrats issued a subpoena to the Almighty God to force Him to testify in Congress Wednesday.
While House leadership was quick to clarify that they don’t believe in the God of the Bible per se, they said they had to explore “all possible avenues” in their exhaustive search for an answer as to why Trump was put in the White House.
“We’re not sure if God is out there or if there’s some great positive spiritual energy holding up the cosmos,” said Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi. “But whoever he or she or xe is, we will interrogate them. We will not allow God to get off the hook for His collusion in bending all of human history to His irresistible will.”
After the Lord, who sits in the heavens and does all He pleases, did not show up at their hearing, Democrats were seen eating KFC to mock Him for being “a chicken” and issued a stern warning.
Go here to read the rest. If God had shown up, He might have inquired why Democrats, since they took control of the House this year, have been omitting, in many cases, the phrase So help me God, administered to witnesses:
But some Democrats have mounted ideological defenses of truncating the oath to avoid references to religion. When Representative Mike Johnson, Republican of Louisiana, interrupted Mr. Cohen to ask that witnesses be sworn in again — or at least be asked if they would prefer to recite the traditional oath, Representative Jerrold Nadler of New York, who leads the Judiciary Committee, interjected.
“We do not have religious tests,” he said, and moved the hearing along.
Such arguments have troubled Republicans like Mr. Johnson, who has been on the front lines of efforts to make the oath invoke God again. He pulled Mr. Nadler aside on the House floor to discuss the issue and directed his office to produce short video montages illustrating it. He believes in the cause.
“The intention behind it was to express the idea that the truth of what was being said was important not just in the moment, but would go into eternity, and someone was watching and would ultimately be our judge,” Mr. Johnson said. “Some would call that mere symbolism, but to many of our founders, it was deeper than that.”
Mr. Johnson said he would continue his crusade, and he has already seen some results.
“To his credit,” he said of Mr. Nadler, “We had a hearing where he used ‘so help me God.’ I leaned over and winked at him.”

Considering some of the positions embraced by the Democrat Party, including infanticide of children lucky enough to survive an abortion, I am not surprised they wish to omit the name of God from their proceedings, and perhaps that is appropriate. The Democrats are busily sowing the wind and they will reap the whirlwind in, oh here is that Name again!, God’s good time.
