This type of thing is often called reverse racism. That is a misnomer. It is simply racism:
In controversial “implicit bias” training, New York City’s public-school educators have been told to focus on black children over white ones — and one Jewish superintendent who described her family’s Holocaust tragedies was scolded and humiliated, according to firsthand accounts.
A consultant hired by the city Department of Education told administrators at a workshop that “racial equity” means favoring black children regardless of their socio-economic status, sources said.
“If I had a poor white male student and I had a middle-class black boy, I would actually put my equitable strategies and interventions into that middle class black boy because over the course of his lifetime he will have less access and less opportunities than that poor white boy,” the consultant, Darnisa Amante, is quoted as saying by those in the room.
“That’s what racial equity is,” Amante explained.
Mona Davids, president of the NYC Parents Union, was appalled.

It’s easy to see that across the globe minority groups from every nation –
Indigenous, Natives, marginal immigrants, displaced groups- have been given preferential treatment, had money thrown at them, had the majority gagged in order not to “offend” and had copious amounts of government resources at their disposal. But all the while these “groups” progression and advancement has been nil. All this moddicoddling do is stifle and paralyse the individual. The mental inferiority remains and the cycle continues, all at the expense (financially, socially and culturally) of the nation. Tough love and self-determination is the only way. Ask any successful immigrant and they will tell you point blank, they succeeded because THEY wanted to succeed. Not because they were given an easy ride.
Apparently, the open borders gangs are out to fundamentally transform/wreck America. Why? “They hate us.” is true and too simplistic. They want control, money and power.

The chancellor of schools in New York City is a manifest mediocrity who has gone from one consequential position to another in core city metropolitan school districts. This nation’s teacher’s colleges churn out mediocrity by the ton, the most mediocre drift into administration, and the scum rises to educational policy jobs. It’s a completely dysfunctional professional culture. But the real perps here are the Mayor of New York, who appointed him to his current job, and the superintendants and school boards who appointed him to his previous jobs. His vicious little inanities are in the range of what is regarded as reasonable in and among big city Democratic politicians.
In regard to the blue states, let the dead bury the dead. In red states, Republican legislators have to get off their duff, quit trading in silly applause-line generators, and put some real reform legislation into place (which is going to include some grapeshot toward the appellate courts who try to run interference for extant establishments). Real reform means closing extant state teachers colleges, re-incorporating public schools as philanthropies governed by boards elected by the schools’ locally resident alumni, instituting voucher programs, and confining regulation of primary and secondary schools to spare versions of commercial and labor law and a requirement that their students sit for state regents exams from which league tables might be generated. As for teacher training, set up new schools which offer certificates which consist of a modest run of methods courses conjoined to an internship and stipended apprenticeship. Make admission contingent to an entrance examination and make admission to secondary programs contingent on a minimum of course work in an academic subject or vocational trade. Leave the teacher’s colleges to train teachers and have aspirant administrators follow courses in professional psychology or public administration.

Glenn Loury noted a generation ago that the use of racial preference schemes had the effect of ‘socializing’ a given person’s accomplishments and had the effect of providing arguments for those wishing to deny that person the autonomy to deviate from group consensus. A great deal of this is simply a denial of – and a war on – individual accomplishment. It’s also an effort to generate tropes to justify campaigns of harassment against white people. It’s being run by Richard Carranza, who, looked at from the perspective of individual accomplishment, is one of the world’s inadequate people. (You might say the same of Bill de Blasio).
