Our Tech Lords are remarkably friendly to police states:
Twitter has suspended a large number of Chinese-language user accounts, including those belonging to critics of China’s government. It seems like a particularly ill-timed move, occurring just days before thirtieth anniversary of the Tiananmen Square massacre on June 4.
“A large number of Chinese @Twitter accounts are being suspended today,” wrote Yaxue Cao, founder and editor of the U.S.-based publication China Change. “They ‘happen’ to be accounts critical of China, both inside and outside China.”
Cao then went on to highlight a number of the suspended accounts in a Twitter thread.
Go here to read the rest. Twitter has now apologized:
Twitter Inc has apologized for suspending accounts critical of Chinese government policy days ahead of the 30th anniversary of a bloody crackdown on protesters at Beijing’s Tiananmen Square, after an outcry among users.
In a statement posted to the company’s Public Policy Twitter feed on Saturday, Twitter said “a number of accounts” had been suspended as part of efforts to target accounts engaging in “platform manipulation”.
“Some of these were involved in commentary about China. These accounts were not mass reported by the Chinese authorities – this was a routine action on our part,” the company said.
Such actions sometimes “catch false positives or we make errors,” it added. Twitter said it was working to “ensure we overturn any errors”.
Go here to read the rest. Amazing how these “errors” always go in one direction: to silence people it serves the ends of Twitter to silence.
Having been banned by Twitter and Facebook for days if not weeks at a time, I am not surprised. Action needs to be taken to break apart these big social media giants.
“Such actions sometimes “catch false positives or we make errors,” it added. Twitter said it was working to “ensure we overturn any errors”.”
Catching false positives…I have never and will never have a Twitter account OR FB account. What I despise the most about articles like this when it involves Tech Co’s is not that they try to censor some of their mostly conservative accounts, which I expect them to do because they are so obviously bias, but that they expect us to accept their “catching false positives” or “we make errors” BS as if they are the little innocents in this big bad world of technology and didn’t realize what had happened. Oh well ha ha. My bad. There, all better now. We fixed it.
Save it you bunch of Twits.
There are about a million people in Chinese concentration camps, mostly dissidents being “reeducated”, and a crackdown on religion. China’s “one child” policy has resulted in a severe shortage of women and an endless supply of cannon fodder for the Red Army. It looks like an Evil Empire over there. We should not sell them anything of strategic value.
“Chinese dissidents are being executed for their organs”, former hospital worker says…”The world is beginning to wake up to the fact that virtually every organ transplant in China costs the life of an innocent human being.”

Poor Twitter, poor Facebook. Think all the money they could made dealing with Hitler.
Big Tech is a useful idiot to the ChiComs. Useful, and willing, too.
This is not without precedent. Occidental Petroleum’s CEO back in the 1970s & 80s was Armand Hammer, a Communist and a Kermlin tool.
