Blunt brains:

Once upon a time, the British Empire was the bada** of the world. It could go where it wanted and do pretty much whatever it wanted. While the British Empire is often vilified by historians for what it did, at the time, it was somewhat restrained compared to many nations with its colonial holdings.

Over the last few decades, though, something happened. Now, the country is a caricature. There’s remarkably little I can take seriously about the nation anymore.

The latest example of how far the UK has fallen? It’s handing out blunted knives to the victims of domestic abuse to reduce stabbings.

Victims of domestic violence will have their kitchen knives replaced with blunt utensils to prevent their partners attacking them in their own home.

Nottinghamshire Police are piloting the scheme where around 100 ‘no point’ knives will be handed to victims who have either been threatened or attacked with a knife.

Police are concerned about the high level of knife-related incidents that happen in the home, and are hoping the new scheme has the potential to save lives.

Domestic violence knife crime makes up more than 17 percent of incidents reported to Nottinghamshire Police.

In 2018/19, out of 900 reports of knife crime, 159 were related to domestic violence.

Superintendent Matt McFarlane, the new knife crime strategy manager for Nottinghamshire Police, who is overseeing the scheme, said: “We do see a fair amount of knife related incidents in domestic abuse not just on the streets.

Wow.

I mean, it’s almost like banning guns did nothing to reduce violence. Who would have thought?

Go here to read the rest.  The sun has definitely sat on British sanity.  All this does is to make it safer for the assailant  the next time “Muhammed”, or whomever, decides to beat the crap out of his shackup.  If he needs a knife to complete his assault, he will simply bring his own, or resort to a broken bottle or any other handy knife substitute.  This proposal doesn’t even rise to the level of rank stupidity.  If the UK donut dunkers really wanted to lessen domestic violence, they would have a program to give victims of domestic violence snub nose revolvers, ammo and classes on how to use the pistols in a close quarters confrontation.  Of course the cops would never think of doing that, because they are products of a contemporary mentality that view inanimate objects as the problem, and not the bad people who wield them.

  1. It’s why I call it Formerly Great Britain. None of the rest of the Commonwealth is much better though. Political correctness is the new god no matter how stupid or what the result.

  2. A clean spoken man once magnanimously remarked:
“We bring a blunt nosed revolver to a blunt knife fight.”

  3. What is this article not saying? I’d be interested in the demographics.
Densely populated neighbor with low incomes? Caribbean Islanders? Muslims? Africans? A machete was the blade used to hack to death a veteran of Afghanistan in broad daylight over there. Don’t call me racist, but it’s a fact that before guns US inner city ERs on Saturday nights treated many inebriated knife fight victims. The Nottingham police are out of touch with reality; anything can be sharpened to slash or puncture.

  4. World Wars 1 & 2 laid Great Britain low. The embrace of the Labor Party in 1945 greased the skids.
Tony Blair was a wimp and set out to make Great Britain as wimpy as he is.
