News that I missed, courtesy of The Babylon Bee:
WASHINGTON, D.C.—Shortly after Joe Biden promised to cure cancer if he is elected president, presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren attempted to one-up her opponent, promising to cure smallpox as one of her first actions upon taking office.
“We will fend off the smallpox attacks of the white man,” she said while sipping “fire water” in a live video posted to her social media accounts. “If I am elected, I will find a way to end this scourge on our people and send the white devils back across the great sea where they came from.”
Warren also vowed to support housing construction by funding new low-cost wigwams, longhouses, and teepees across the land.
Her policies would also address hunger. “I promise a buffalo over every fire!” she said, before giving off a war cry that she had found on Google and carefully rehearsed ahead of time.
Go here to read the rest. If the Democrats were suicidal enough to have Fauxcahontas as their nominee, videos of her debates with Trump would be keepers for all time. As for Biden, I suspect if he is the nominee Democrats will be attempting to destroy every copy of the videos of his debates with Trump. Trump is living proof of the adage that it is smarter to be lucky, than it is lucky to be smart.
If Mr. Creepy Man and Liarwatha are the best that the Dems have to offer then President Trump has no challenger for 2020.
I still believe, and more strongly after hearing none other than former Speaker Newt Gingrich say the same thing, that if Biden is the nominee the radical left will bolt at the convention; if he is not the nominee, moderate Dems will either stay home in November or hold their noises and pull the “R” lever for President.
My wife, a self-described “Kennedy Democrat,” says the same thing. That she and I agree on anything political is a sign of Divine Guidance.
Dunno. Trump is having trouble closing the deal with the small slice of the electorate (7% or so, thought Karl Rove) who are ‘swing voters’. As for the Democrats, the culture of the Democratic Party is such that there is no act of abuse or stupidity that they’re capable of noticing. They’ll vote for a dead dog in the road before considering Trump or anyone else.
Political scientists used to use the term ‘pillarization’ to describe the electorate of the Low Countries. Another analogy might be Ulster. That’s where we are.
“They’ll vote for a dead dog in the road before considering Trump or anyone else.”
I agree Art, if they vote. Just enough of them did not vote in 2016, or voted Green, to make the difference in key states. The Democrats have their most loyal voters in icy blue states. In purple states, Democrats are more used to voting for Republicans, or third party, or simply staying home, if they find the Democrat candidate unacceptable. A big divide is opening up in the Democrat party between socialists and everyone else. In 2016 that hurt Clinton. We will see how it plays out next year. Trump is more popular among Republicans and Conservatives than he was in 2016. I am a good example of that.
August 18, 1920 is a day that will live in infamy.*** If Trump is defeated it will be women who will do it for superficial reasons.
***”Passed by Congress June 4, 1919, and ratified on August 18, 1920, the 19th amendment guarantees all American women the right to vote. Achieving this milestone required a lengthy and difficult struggle; victory took decades of agitation and protest.”
Actually the Republicans were the main proponents of female suffrage and long benefited from it, as they still do if the category is married white women.
