By Any Means Necessary

I don’t believe that our current economic system actually works. Capitalism by design is extractive and in order to generate profit in a capitalist system something has to be exploited. That’s land, labor or resources. And I think that we’re in late phase capitalism and we know it doesn’t work and we’ve got to move into something new. And I believe in community ownership of land, labor and resources and distribution of those resources. And so whatever that morphs into I think will serve community the best. And I’m excited to usher it in by any means necessary.

Candi Cdebaca, Newly elected member of the Denver City Council

By any means necessary?  What does that mean?

If it means what I suspect it means the only proper response, after all peaceful avenues are exhausted, is that given by General Francisco Franco to Niceto Alcalá-Zamora y Torres, President of the Second Spanish Republic:

One thing that I am sure of, and which I can answer truthfully, is that whatever the contingencies that may arise here, wherever I am there will be no communism.

God help America.  The Left is hurtling us toward a precipice.

More to explorer

  1. She’s a social worker – i.e. she’s a member of an occupational guild which hardly exists in the commercial sector and for which the training programs given high marks by accreditation cartels are compendia of filler courses. I’m sure there are institutional apparatchiks with MSW degrees who in their work life produce more well-being than irritation, but that’s because any random selection of people will have some in it who are conscientious and have good judgment. (The social workers I’ve dealt with in their professional capacity were all either (1) useless or (2) one step above useless; I’ve had four social workers in my family; one’s a highly intelligent dear with terrible judgment, two are fairly respectable level-headed bourgeois in their mundane life but no clue what they’re like in an office setting, and one was an absolute disaster of a human being).

You realize what she said is derivative – jargon she picked up from reading Monthly Review, The Nation, and Mother Jones. Or maybe she was assigned a text by Henry Braverman in college. Blah blah blah monopoly capital blah blah blah. A generation ago, ordinary working adults with mortgages chuckled at these types or looked at them with incomprehension. Now, regrettably, we have a critical mass of people here and there who will vote for them.

  2. How many armed guards will she have when the “by any means necessary” phase of the program is begun?

  3. I wonder if she and others like her are willing to die for communism as much I am willing to die for my God given rights and liberties?

  4. She is the reason countries end up in a civil war. Truly, the Left is actually against everything it says it is for.
