Yeah, It Was Never About the Confederacy

“Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street building has been renamed, every date has been altered. And the process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right.” ― George Orwell, 1984

Just in time for the Fourth of July:

The Charlottesville City Council voted to officially remove Thomas Jefferson’s birthday, April 13, as a holiday.

To replace it, Freedom and Liberation Day has been declared a holiday on March 3.

Removing celebrating Jefferson was voted on four to one with Galvin being the only “no” vote.

Adding Freedom and Liberation Day was a separate vote and was voted on unanimously.

Council also added a floating holiday to make a total of 12 holidays, meaning city employees get about the same number of holidays as Albemarle County employees.

Go here to read the rest.  These villains are a far greater threat to what Jefferson wrote in the Declaration of Independence than the handful of pathetic neo-Nazis who protested in Charlottesville two years ago could ever be in a thousand years.

Those people were also there, because they wanted to protest the taking down of a statue Robert E. Lee. So – excuse me – and you take a look at some of the groups and you see, and you’d know it if you were honest reporters, which in many cases you’re not. Many of those people were there to protest the taking down of the statue of Robert E. Lee. So this week, it’s Robert E. Lee, I noticed that Stonewall Jackson’s coming down. I wonder, is it George Washington next week? And is it Thomas Jefferson the week after. You know, you really do have to ask yourself, where does it stop?

President Donald Trump, August 15, 2017

More to explorer

  1. So for freedom and liberation day, can I dress up like Charlton Heston and go around shouting “Proclaim liberty throughout all the land!”

  2. “… And is it Thomas Jefferson the week after..”

Guess he was only off on the timing.
Rather astute he is; that Trump fellow.
