Interesting:

First lady Melania Trump warned her husband that Dr. Christine Blasey Ford was not being truthful when she accused Justice Brett Kavanaugh of sexually assaulting her in high school, according to a new book.

“You know that woman is lying, right?” Melania told the president, in an episode recounted in Justice on Trial: The Kavanaugh Confirmation and the Future of the Supreme Court, the New York Post reported. The book is slated for a Tuesday release.

Authors Mollie Hemingway, senior editor of the Federalist, and Carrie Severino, chief counsel and policy director of the Judicial Crisis Network, claim in their upcoming book that the first lady was one of many women who were skeptical of Ford’s testimony that Kavanaugh raped her while drunk at a high school party.

Go here to read the rest.  When the history of the Trump administration is written, I would not be surprised to learn that some of the best advice President Trump got during his  time as President was from his wife.  She is vastly underestimated and misunderstood by the critics of the President and the media, but I repeat myself.  She wisely avoids the limelight, but that says nothing about her role behind the scenes.

  1. I don’t think the president needed Melania to tell him Ford was lying. Anyone with the I.Q. of an ice cube could have figured that out.

However, I guess Melania takes a more active role behind the scenes than her low profile public persona would suggest.

  2. I do not know how fervent a Catholic Melania is, but I am sure that her faith has a positive impact on both of them.

  3. Mrs. Trump is the most enigmatic figures to occupy that position in living memory. My suspicion is that she never really puts her cards on the table in any venue and that her immediate family simply accepts the unsolved puzzle as a part of their milieu. We have a shirt-tail like that. Her mother claims to have seen her in tears on occasion, but no one else admits to that.

  4. What’s interesting about the Blasey Fraud matter is that people uninvolved in partisan politics (but favoring the Democratic Party) twisted their heads into pretzels in order to credit her remarks. See for example Prof. John Haas of Cerritos College (as well as his more evasive sidekick, John Fea of Messiah College). You didn’t have to have special insight to figure out that Blasey Fraud was lying from start to finish or a victim of an astonishing stew of confusion and ill-fortune.

Actually, the psychological gymnastics necessary to credit her account is correlated with intelligence. (Not that unintelligent people cannot manage it too).

As Reagan used to say, “They know so much that isn’t true.
