Lies, Darn Lies and Erica Thomas Press Conferences

News that I missed, courtesy of The Babylon Bee:

ATLANTA, GA—Georgia state rep Erica Thomas took to social media this weekend to express her disgust and outrage at a Chick-fil-A employee’s comments to her in the restaurant’s drive-thru. According to her viral Twitter post, the black state worker claims that after saying thank you for her food, the white cashier pointed his finger at her and angrily shouted, “Go back to your country!”

“This is what’s happening in Trump’s America,” the post concluded.

Thousands of online users shared and commented on the post, showing their support for Thomas and their rage at the racist attack.

Chick-fil-A immediately investigated the claim, and security footage revealed the employee, who is of Chinese descent, said nothing even remotely close to the alleged comments.

In light of the information, Thomas walked back her claim a bit. “He definitely said something to me. I initially thought it was the ‘go back to your country’ thing, but now that I think about it, it may have been ‘my pleasure.'”

Go here to read the rest.  Go here to read about the real incident.  Thomas actually was using the express lane checkout when she had too many items.  Fellow customer Eric Sparkes gave her a piece of his mind.  He denies telling her to go back where she came from, but states that after she got aggressive with him he called her a lazy bitch.  He claims to be a yellow dog Democrat who identifies as a a Cuban Hispanic and, based on his Facebook page, hates Trump.  Anti-black racism is apparently so rare in the Age of Trump that it has to be invented.

To paraphrase Love Story, being a leftist person of color means never having to say you are sorry. No news here, people. Move along. The only standard the Left upholds is a double standard.

Anyone else do a double check on whether this was a babylon bee story?

How many times do we have to have these fake-outs before people will stop believing them?

Nate, this line made me double-check:
He definitely said something to me. I initially thought it was the ‘go back to your country’ thing, but now that I think about it, it may have been ‘my pleasure.’”

….whut?

One problem we’ve had in this country is that the scum also rises. Political offices seem to flow to the worst and the stupidest among our business and professional classes, who in turn manifest in bright colors the signature vices of the constituencies from which they hail. I don’t think that’s always been the case.

Facts don’t matter.

This one acted on my advice to be sure there is no witness to your crime: here slander.

In other news, a TX victory for religious freedom: Gov. Abbott signed the “Save Chick-fil-A” Bill.

Ninety-nine percent of all liberal stuff is a lie.

Being called a racist by a liar doesn’t make you a racist.

Yeah, Foxfier. The problem with the Bee nowadays is that it can barely outpace the liberal reality.

I think it was Sarah Hoyt on instapundit who said the Bee must possess a time machine since it seems to be predicting the future now.

At least he didn’t tie a noose around her neck like poor Jussie.
