Charming:
FoxNews.com – The Mexican government on Sunday threatened legal action against the United States for its response to Saturday’s mass shooting at Walmart in El Paso, Texas that left 20 people dead, including six Mexican nationals.
Mexico’s Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard made the announcement in a video posted to Twitter, in which he expressed indignation for the mass shooting near the Cielo Vista Mall.
Go here to read the rest. Gee Mexico, who are you going to sue for the seven hundred plus murders that occurred in Ciudad Juarez, which is located adjacent to El Paso right across the Rio Grande, in 2018? El Paso had 25 murders that year. This could be very profitable for the government of Mexico since last year Mexican officials opened files on 33,341 murders. Bear in mind that plenty of murders in Mexico are never investigated as the bodies are never found, the local authorities are in cahoots with the murderers or the local authorities are completely intimidated by the murderers. This year, thus far, there have been around 17,000 officially reported murders in Mexico. The US has close to triple the population of Mexico and half the murders of Mexico. Government of Mexico, we look forward with bated breath to advice from you as to how we can cure violence in our country. Have at it amigos.
Mexico has incredibly strict gunlaws, too. Each firearm is registered, if you use it it’s taken away, and most of the official everything is infested.
Unbelievable. That’s like Don Corleone suing the New York police because Captain McCluskey punched Michael.
And Venezuela has issued a travel warning. Not joking.
Chutzpah especially given this:

What exactly would this legal action be? What standing would the government of Mexico have? What duty to Mexico’s government would the US gov’t have? Where would they bring suit? If they can sue the US Gov’t for murders of Mexicans in the US, can the US government sue the Mexican gov’t for murders of Americans in Mexico? But we all know it will not happen – the “threat” is merely for rhetorical effect. Maybe Mexico should just build a wall to protect its citizens from dangerous Americans.
We are agreed c matt that this is strictly politics, although our legal system must seem strange to a country where “due process” is merely a Yankee phrase:
