Nice Little Supreme Court You Have Here. Be a Shame if Anything Happened to It.

Several high-profile Senate Democrats warned the Supreme Court in pointed terms this week that it could face a fundamental restructuring if justices do not take steps to “heal” the court in the near future.

The ominous and unusual warning was delivered as part of a brief filed Monday in a case related to a New York City gun law. Sens. Sheldon Whitehouse, D-R.I., Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., Mazie Hirono, D-Hawaii, Richard Durbin, D-Ill., and Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y., referenced rulings by the court’s conservative majority in claiming it is suffering from some sort of affliction which must be remedied.

“The Supreme Court is not well. And the people know it,” the brief said. “Perhaps the Court can heal itself before the public demands it be ‘restructured in order to reduce the influence of politics.'”

 

Go here to read the rest.  Contemporary Democrats only play by the rules until they begin to lose under those rules.  Republicans who expect the Democrats to respect the Constitutional rules when they next have power are fools beyond belief.

-isn’t there such a thing as a constitution and amendments to by the people of the united states?..
-isn’t the supreme court meant to defend and interpret the constitution?

Our journalists are corrupt, both in the narratives they push and the questions they don’t ask. We are going to have find a way to rise above -without them.

This is why elections matter.

The Get Trump mob has failed. And, they’ve gone nuts.

When Stalin didn’t liquidate critics, he had them committed to insane asylums.

Thank God for President Trump (nominating hundreds of federal judges) warts and all.

To be fair, (I think) Thomas Jefferson wrote that if the Courts are the final arbiters on Constitutional issues, we are ruled by an oligarchy.

Bottom line: The Court and Bill of Rights do not give free men unalienable rights. God does. If any court or legislature were to rule against/outlaw 300-year extant rights (e.g., the right to bear arms) that ruling would be null and unconstitutional. There is no power delegated by God Almighty or The US Constitution to the Executive, Legislative, or Judiciary to impose a dictatorship on the people – that’s why they added The Second Amendment.

It’s all crazy talk. They don’t enforce the 9,000 gun laws they already have. See the street gang, gun violence in Chicago, LA, NYC.

Congress should long since have taken steps to put the appellate courts in their place. The problem here is the motive. Democrats expect the courts to impose the liberal agenda on elected officials and public who have no interest in enacting such policies. They’re enraged as little children throwing a tantrum when the court isn’t co-operating and is offering some modest impediments. The modest impediments are (1) saying that incorporated enterprises have some free speech rights, not just the New York Times Co., and (2) that the phrase ‘the right of the people’ in the 2d amendment refers in that provision to what it does in any other provision in law, a personal right which legislatures cannot blithely ignore.

It’s just another indication, in case you needed one, that contemporary liberalism is a species of juvenalia. They just want what they want and they have no procedural principles and are incapable of thinking downstream.

Two thoughts:
On the one hand, we know Roberts is susceptible to this kind of pressure, so you can’t really blame the Democrats for trying.

On the other hand, we know Roberts is susceptible to this kind of pressure, so why haven’t we ourselves already packed the court?

The Second Amendment as is capital punishment self-defense. Self-defense is a God-given human right since all mankind are created equal in sovereign personhood.
Those who would enslave us cannot even appreciate their own sovereign personhood. Atheists who do not know God cannot know sovereignty. It is as though they, the overlords define our sovereignty. as the overlords have redefined the human person as having no soul, no freedom and no self-defense.

After the Democrats have packed the Supreme Court , we, the people will still have self-defense. with tar and feathers and pitchforks and rails.
We will teach our children to read, write and defend truth, Justice and the American way.
