The Pell appeal decision will be handed down on August 21. PopeWatch will be giving it gull coverage. PopeWatch trusts that considering the complete lack of evidence on which Pell was convicted, that the Australian appellate justices are aware that it is their legal system which is actually on trial now, with Pell merely being in the role of an unjustly convicted scapegoat.

I always thought Cardinal Pell was set up

It’s doubtful the victim of this miscarriage of justice is someone anyone in their social circles admires. The question is how corrupt is the Australian bar. See Fr. Paul Shaughnessy on ‘sociological corruption’. In a corrupted institution, the priority of the supervisors thereof is to avoid embarrassment and save face, not to maintain or improve performance and integrity.
Art Deco, clarity of expression is your strong suit. I hope that the decision doesn’t play to social circles and guest lists as much as to at least keeping the rank clear of embarrassing characters.
Art Deco nailed it.
Sadly, Pell lost his appeal 2-1. Equally sad is that no one should be surprised by it. The Australian “justice” system is proof that not all jokes are funny.
Australia ought to be dismissed from the United Nations as a just and free state as well as being dismissed from America’s acknowledgement of it as a credible nation. Tourists ought to avoid being entrapped on Australian territory.
The sovereign personhood of the sovereign person institutes the sovereign nation.
In Australia the sovereign person of Cardinal George Pell has been imprisoned without due process. Let Australia find freedom.
