Catalina Lauf

Keep your eye on this young lady.  She could definitely upset the Democrat incumbent, who barely won in a very good year for Democrats in 2018, in this Republican leaning district in Illinois.  Trump took the District by four points in 2016.  All of 26 years old, I think she could be a quickly rising political star, and just what the feckless, and tired, Illinois GOP needs.  She is a native of the District and that is important in the 14th District which I am quite familiar with.  Go Catalina!

I suspect the problem with the Illinois GOP is very similar if not the same as the shreds of the California GOP, and also the Washington GOP-Crats:

They are much more comfortable with a left-wing opposition winner than someone from their own side [read: Trump, for example] who might take away their power.

The last 26 year old from the distaff side I can recall running for Congress was Elise Stefanik, in the Adirondack district. She ran as something of a libertarian and then (with John Katko from Syracuse) acquired a voting record a shade to the left of that of Susan Collins. Both she and Katko were implicated in this odious measure:

I’ve long suspected most GOP legislators are careerists who may have certain biases and certain boundaries, but are basically in politics because for them it’s a more agreeable way of earning a living than practicing law or selling real estate. Their primary purpose is pleasing constituents and or donors, so they usually do what the Chamber of Commerce tells them to do if they do not have irate constituents telling them something different. (For Senators, I’ll wager they do what their donors tell them even if it irritates constituents). The differences you see comparing one part of the country to another are just marketing strategies. Democratic legislators pander to their constituents’ worst instincts, but they do not despise their constituents per se (and often share those worst instincts). Republican caucuses are shot through with people who actually do despise their voters. John McCain made that increasingly apparent as he aged.

You see the same pattern in Canada and Britain.

“. . . despise their constituents . . .” Truth. The establishment GOP, the Bush Dynasty, the conservative chatterocracy, the NeverTrumpers have reason to hate Trump. His yuge successes have shown them up for the losers they truly are. Plus, in hating Trump, they really despise the 63 million awakened Americans that voted for Trump.

What did it get them?

When are people going to realize that the Democratic Party is Socialist, Godless, corrupt and self serving and they are not your friend. It’s all about power and control over us. They’ve been taken over by the “Clown squad ” that has a message so toxic it reminds me of Rat poison, 60% sweet corn and 40% ARSENIC. For The sake of God and our beautiful Country wake up!!’

Any “Catholic” choosing to vote GOP is not taking their vow to be stewards of the environment very seriously. No Earth, No Life, No Church.

Any “Catholic” choosing to vote GOP is not taking their vow to be stewards of the environment very seriously.

How would you manage to demonstrate to us that you harbored a working definition of what it meant to ‘take their vow to be stewards of the environment’ seriously? While we’re at it, just when and where was this vow administered?
