Three-Fifths of a Brain

News that I missed, courtesy of The Babylon Bee:

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez came out hard against the Electoral College, slamming the institution as a racist scam that makes white people’s votes count for “like, a lot more” than other people’s votes.

But she then thought of a good solution: “What if we count all white people as three-fifths of a person instead of a full person? Then, good votes would count more than bad, racist votes. Like, four or five times more or something, because 3/5ths is only like 10% of a real vote.”

She then paused as she counted on her fingers and double-checked her math on her toes. “Yeah, it adds up. Case closed. This makes the program contain 247% fewer racisms.”

It was pointed out to her that this was racist, but she said that when you fight racism with other racism, it makes less racism. “1 bad racism plus 1 good racism equals zero racisms,” she said confidently.

Go here to read the rest.  Entertainment seems to be the primary goal of many Americans and therefore it is no surprise that a fair number of our politicians are buffoons, seemingly chosen to perform the traditional role allocated to court jesters, which is a libel on court jesters since most of them were usually quite intelligent men whose wit often contained sage advice, or unwelcome truth.  Alas, the same cannot be said for many of our current crop of politicians.

AOC may be dumber than a bag of rocks. But she is smarter than the fools who voted her into office.

The Supreme Court tried counting the sovereign person as three fifth of a perosn in Dredd Scott. It did not work then and it does not work now. Interesting that the criminal decision should again be proposed by another Democrat.
It is interesting also to note that science tells us that human beings utilize barely 10% of their brain’s capacity. Three fifths of 10% is 6%

AOC like Beto (was), is largely a Democrat-media complex generated phenomenon. If you’re: 1. easy on the eyes, 2. speak clear gibberish, 3. are emotional and 4. get good ratings – you’re made into a famous leader overnight.

The flip side is the irrational democrat-media complex can be driven mad by what it seeks. Tied to the hip, the Dems are slaves to the the media complex.
The savvy orange man with the laser pointer fooling the cat, knows that. AOC will follow Beto soon enough, but not until the usefulness of AOC+3 as the face of the Democrat party is over.
Trouble is, I don’t want the Dems to be crazy, because they will win “some” elections.

As we like to say at our theology on tap sessions, AOC is dumber than a box of Vatican II Bishops.

To Mary and all – I realize this is a comment section about some satire but to go off on a short tangent about the brain: I’ve heard the “we only use 10% of our brains” comment before. However, I’ve been studying Alzheimer’s a bit lately (some in my family have it and a dear uncle recently died of it) and the brain experts say we actually use 100% of our brains. How do they know? If a part of our brain is damaged in a stroke, for example, we lose a bit of bodily or mental function. As another example, as Alzhemier’s progresses slowly over time, damage is being done and the impacts build up, barely noticeable at first until they are very evident and, by then, usually irreversible. The best expert that I’ve read? Dr. Dale Bredesen and his book, “The End of Alzehimer’s”. Now, back to the satire – how one uses one’s brain is indeed a question. And, perhaps there is some truth to the idea of a “pea brain”?

I can see why Snopes was (probably still is) confused about The Babylon Bee being satire. It simply hits to close to the truth.
.
I can believe she said that. And that is very sad.
