Saint Edith of Wilton

A daughter of King Edgar of England, she said the above when she was rebuked for the white habits with gold ornamentation that she and her fellow nuns wore.  (You can make a princess a nun, but a touch of the princess will always remain!)  Dying at around 23 circa 986, she was noted for her intellect, beauty and piety.  Miracles began to occur at her grave shortly after her death, and she became one of the most popular saints in England during the Middle Ages.
