PopeWatch: AntiChrist

Sandro Magister minces no words:

While the controversy rages on in view of the synod on the Amazon, which in reality has its epicenter in the Church of Germany, the latest invention of Pope Francis has gone by almost unnoticed.

It is entitled “Reinventing the Global Educational Alliance,” and it is open to “all public figures” who “are engaged on the worldwide level” in the field of education, to whatever religion they may belong. The announcement was made on September 12, and the summit is scheduled for May 14 2020 at the Vatican.

It comes as no surprise that a pope like Jorge Mario Bergoglio, who belongs to the Society of Jesus – for centuries a great instructor of the ruling classes – should take such an interest in the schooling and formation of the new generations. But what is striking is the complete absence from his educational project of any sort of Christian distinction.

In the video message with which Francis launches the initiative there is not the slightest trace of God, nor of Jesus, nor of the Church. The dominant formula is “new humanism,” with its trappings of “shared home,” “universal solidarity,” “fraternity,” “convergence,” “welcome”…

And the religions? These too bunched together and neutralized in an indistinct “dialogue.” In order to “gain back the ground lost to discrimination,” the pope refers to the document “on human brotherhood” that he signed on February 4 2019 with the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, a document in which even “the pluralism and the diversity of religions” are “willed by God in His wisdom, through which He created human beings.”

The novelty of this initiative of Francis consists precisely in the fact that it is the first time a pope has claimed as his own and put himself at the helm of such a radically secularized global educational pact. Because in reality a “new humanism” without Christ is not an original, but a constant in the thought of the West of the last two centuries.

From the Grand Inquisitor of Fyodor Dostoevsky, to the Gospel according to Leo Tolstoy, to the Antichrist of Vladimir Solovyov, to the “new humanism,” no less, of Edgar Morin – the French philosopher whom Francis received in private audience last June 27 following a conference in Rome precisely on the “convergences” of his thought with the vision of the current pope – there are many forms under which the unique and incomparable person of Christ is dissolved, replaced with a generic love for humanity.

“Within this project,” Luisella Scrosati commented in La Nuova Bussola Quotidiana of September 16, “God too is accommodated nicely, as long as he takes his seat among the guests of this new united humanity and does not claim to be the Bridegroom who calls to the wedding, and even decides to keep out those who do not have the wedding garment.”

In 2005 there was a great theologian and cardinal, named Giacomo Biffi (1928-2015), who powerfully brought attention back to the “great crisis that struck Christianity in the last decades of the nineteen hundreds,” hollowing out its substance in the name of a universal fraternity.

Biffi, in a chapter of one of his books, took up the account of the Antichrist written in 1900 by the Russian theologian and philosopher Solovyov, and applied it to the Church of today.

Here are some of its dazzling passages. As relevant as ever.

*

THE DAYS ARE COMING, AND ARE ALREADY HERE…

by Giacomo Biffi

The Antichrist, says Solovyov, […] believed in goodness, and even in God. […] He gave “the greatest possible demonstrations of moderation, disinterest, and active beneficence.” […] The book that had gained for him universal fame and consensus bore the title: “The Open Road to Universal Peace and Prosperity.” […]

It is true that some men of faith wondered why the name of Christ did not appear even once, but others replied: “If the contents of the book are permeated with the true Christian spirit, with active love and universal benevolence, what more do you want?” […]

Where Solovyov’s presentation shows itself to be particularly original and surprising – and merits greater reflection – is in the attribution to the Antichrist of the qualities of pacifist, environmentalist, ecumenist. […]

In this description of the Antichrist, Solovyov […] alludes above all to the “new Christianity” that Leo Tolstoy was successfully promoting during those years. […]

In his “Gospel,” Tolstoy reduces all of Christianity to five rules of conduct which he derives from the Sermon on the Mount:

1. Not only must you not kill, but you must not even become angry with your brother.
2. You must not give in to sensuality, not even to the desire for your own wife.
3. You must never bind yourself by swearing an oath.
4. You must not resist evil, but you must apply the principle of non-violence to the utmost and in every case.
5. Love, help, and serve your enemy.

According to Tolstoy, although these precepts come from Christ, they in no way require the actual existence of the Son of the living God to be valid. […]

Of course, Solovyov does not specifically identify the great novelist with the figure of the Antichrist. But he intuited with extraordinary clairvoyance that Tolstoy’s creed would become during the 20th century the vehicle of the substantial nullification of the gospel message, under the formal exaltation of an ethics and a love for humanity presented as Christian “values.” […]

The days will come, Solovyov tells us – and are already here, we say – in which the salvific meaning of Christianity, which can be received only in a difficult, courageous, concrete, and rational act of faith, will be dissolved into a series of “values” easily sold on the world markets.

Go here to read the rest.  PopeWatch wishes to go on record and state that PopeWatch does not believe that Pope Francis is the AntiChrist.  If he were, PopeWatch assumes that the Pope would be a better speaker, much more organized in his thinking, much less obvious in his heterodoxy, and would most definitely not be an Argentinian.  Everyone knows that the AntiChrist will come from Chicago, or so many Catholics in Central Illinois have long believed.

Is Jorge B blaspheming against the real Antichrist? Is Jorge B trying to appear as the Antichrist by acting out what Holy Scripture tells us about the Antichrist? For example, his mouth will be full of blaspheny (Apocalypse 13:5-6) and Antichrist will raise himself above God (2 Thessalonians 2:4; e.g. “No one can be condemned forever”).

Jorge B definitely has the world’s attention, “The whole earth marveled as they followed the beast” (Apocalypse 13:3), but many many evil persons have, for at least a time, been the focus of world news.

But Joreg B is not the Antichrist.

More absolute proof Jorge B is not the Antichrist: Antichrist will be very intelligent with broad knowledge (Daniel 8:23), and seem to know all about commerce (Daniel 11:43; Apocalypse 13:16-17), war (Apocalypose 6:2; 13:2), speech (Daniel 11:36), and politics (Apocalypse 17:11-12). All one need do is listen to Jorge or read a verbatim transcript of his actual words to realize he is not Antichrist.

And the clincher: Jorge has done no miracles. Even more tellling, the Vatican propaganda apparat has not even tried to report that he has done a miracle, not one. But either he must start with the miracles, or we will know, for sure, he is not Antichrist: “For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.” (Matthew 24:24). Jorge has yet to do any wondrous signs: Antichrist will “use all sorts of displays of power through signs and wonders that serve the lie” (2 Thessalonians 2:9).

So, all that follows applies to Antichrist, but many cannot be said of Jorge:
Intelligent, Charismatic Speaker, Crafty Politician, Distinct Physical Appearance, Military Genius, Economic Genius, Blasphemer, Utterly Lawless, Selfish, Ambitious Egomaniac, Greedy Materialist, Controlling, Proud and Self-exalting Above God and Everything, Does Wondrous Signs.

Perhaps we should be incredibly wary of the person who arrives on the global scene, who fills the bill for Antichrist, who exposes Jorge B for what he is and reveals the scope and profound depths to which the Bergolgian homoarchy has descended. [To quote some wisdom from my youth: ‘It ain’t me babe’].

Y’all may find of interest: The Catholic Moment, George Weigel, First Things, Oct 2019. Some teasers: “malfeasance of bishops;” “geographic breadth of the abuse scandals;” “afflict the entire Church;” “coverups perpetrated by Church leaders;” “sexually dysfunctional clergy preying on young men;” and ” . . it is difficult to imagine a more severe counter-witness to the truth of Christ than the abuse of innocent young people by those claiming to speak in Christ’s name.”

1 John 2:22
Who is the liar, if it is not the one who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, who denies the Father and the Son.

1 John 4:1
Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God. For many false prophets have gone out into the world.

1 John 4:3
and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming, and is already in the world at this time.

2 John 1:7
For many deceivers have gone out into the world, refusing to confess the coming of Jesus Christ in the flesh. Any such person is the deceiver and the antichrist.

I do not believe he is THE antichrist but I’m beginning to have a nasty suspicion that he may be ignorantly ‘preparing the way of the Anti-christ’

I can’t help but think we’re in the Race, the End Game so to speak..

Near the tip of Cape Cod, there’s a beach called Race Point. (Tidal race or tidal rapid is a natural occurrence whereby a fast-moving tide passes through a constriction, resulting in the formation of waves, eddies and hazardous currents. ) Water from the Atlantic and the Bay collide, producing standing waves and hazardous currents that confuse both bait fish and predators alike.

“Be sober, be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking some one to devour. “

David WS I’m writing this from the Cape (was at Race Point yesterday) Did you know that all of Long Island Sound dumps its Easterly outgoing waters through what is widely known there as The Race.
I’m beginning to wonder if this is why everyone is calling everyone else “racists?”

Legend tells that Saint John the Evangelist was about to drink a cup of poisoned wine when an angels spilled the poisoned wine before he could.
Poisoned wine cannot be consecrated at Mass because the wine is adulterated by the poison.
The two stories tell that a man without a vocation coming for Holy Orders to corrupt the Catholic Church cannot be ordained with Holy Orders because the Sacrament of Holy Orders for him is invalid.
Bella Dodd, former head of the communist party in America told that a thousand men were sent into the Catholic Church and the seminaries to corrupt the Church. Such a man cannot be validly consecrated, nor can such a bishop be validly consecrated to further ordain such evil men; men without a vocation intended only to destroy Holy Mother Church.
In the Sacrament of Baptism, the sponsors speak for the infant. In the Sacrament of Confirmation also a sponsor speaks for the person being confirmed.
In Holy Orders, the man speaks his vows for himself. If the man lies, the Sacrament of Holy Orders cannot be valid. The person seeking to do harm to the church is not raised to the priesthood.

With all due respect Mary, that is a very dangerous line of reasoning. It’s the same idea that led the Donatists into schism in the 4th century, and Luther in the 15th.

In keeping with Pope Francis evident desire to substitute godless humanism for Catholicism huI wrote a note this morning on Mundabor https://mundabor.wordpress.com/2019/09/24/the-economy-of-stupid/ having to do with the Pope need for money. Clearly, PF could be considered a forerunner of the anti-Christ by making the Vatican a member of the EU.

“Maybe PF can find a way to become a member of the EU and be perpetually bailed out.
All that is necessary is for him to bill himself as the President (Dictator) of the Vatican State. He already subscribes to EU socialist and anti-populist thinking. And, best of all, no serious person considers him as a religious person. He is politician pure and simple for sale to the highest bidder.”
