Thought For the Day

Death is a great motivator.
Useful reminder, but, objectively speaking, how’s the priest s’posed to know you murdered your mistresses’ lover, and then celebrated by debauching your catamite before presenting yourself for communion?
Now, maybe I’m lucky and live in a bubble. But I have in fact heard Priests preach on the importance of being in a state of grace before receiving Holy communion. Also on the necessity of Reconciliation, and not just during Lent, when it’s expected. So as much as Iove, admire, and respect Fr. Z, count me among the unimpressed.
This is a perfect example of Vatican II thinking. The health of the body is important; not so the soul.
