Let The Prosecutions Begin
Donald R. McClarey

Why not take it a step farther and admit home rule has failed in DC? The next Republican Congress should end that failed experiment.
Isn’t that the red-head that had to be forcibly restrained from beating to death the guy half his age who tried to assassinate him?
Fitting, that he gets such a response.
Digression:
What is it with these guys and destroying red heads?
Isn’t that the red-head that had to be forcibly restrained from beating to death the guy half his age who tried to assassinate him?
Yep!
On January 30, 1835, Jackson survived the first assassination attempt on an American president. Firing two pistols at Jackson, both of which misfired, the would be assassin found himself on the receiving end of the presidential cane, since the reaction of Jackson, although elderly and ailing, was to charge in the face of mortal danger.

Why does President Trump need to authorize federal law enforcement officials to enforce federal law? Much of President Trump’s staff, advisors and many Republicans in the Congress do not seem to be obliged to fight for or even defend the president, the constitution or US citizens.
I think that Trump would like to take more aggressive action but now probably realizes that action could be politically risky. He has a Secretary of Defense and several high ranking flag officers publicly questioning National Guard and Military support based upon a false narrative that looting and rioting is a peaceful protest. The FBI is taking a knee with protesters rather than investigating and arresting those destroying referral property. At the justice department we see delayed investigations and prosecution of corrupt federal officials who generated a false narrative to destroy the Presidency.
Perhaps the President should force subordinates to do their jobs. A good start would be to fire his Secretary of defense and direct his replacement to force the retirement of blatantly partisan political flag officers. A similar purging of federal law enforcement should start with the director of the FBI.
It would be nice if we had some actual leadership in this nation.
The subtext of “you’re on your own, law-abiding citizen” is unmistakable. And the lines at the gun store nearest to my home show that message is getting through, loud and clear.
The plague should have taught you to keep your pantry full. But the behavior of the alleged “authorities” is another loud signal to be and remain prepared.
The reality is this: the odds of a federal DC jury convicting rioters for destruction are too low to be meaningfully calculated.
The grand jury probably won’t even return an indictment.
But the effort and likely failure will be instructive.
I would avoid DC like the plague Dale. With a conspiracy count we could get charges brought in other jurisdictions assuming that some of the leaders of these efforts are residing outside of DC, or traveled to other venues in pursuance of the conspiracy.
Patrick, I expected Trump is planning a post election purge that would make the perpetrators of the Red Wedding blanch, and leave Michael Corleone shaking his head in wonder.
Mr. McClarey, or anyone, we live in a liberal, New England state. Any thoughts on what state might be better to live in should this not go our way come November? One shudders to think, but we are impressed by the amount of violent and dumb people our great nation now sustains. Should Stacey Abrams be elected president, where should the Americans go. Thank you.
Indiana.
A modest proposal: Fire any DC and Federal civil service employee arrested for riot or destroying property.
